Role Summary

As a Histology / Autopsy Technician M/F you ensure standard histological techniques for all animal species used in toxicology, in compliance with PSOs and study plans and according to defined deadlines and quality criteria.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be

  • Ensure sample preparation for all species (rodents and non-rodents)
  • Ensure the preparation of samples with complex techniques (heart, brain, bones, etc.)
  • Carry out the inclusion of the organs in paraffin megablocks;
  • Carry out megablock cutting operations;
  • Carry out freezing cutting operations;
  • Perform standard slide staining and mounting;
  • Perform simple special colorings;

Pre-cut the bones with a saw.

  • Routine use of dehydration machines (changes of solvents, loading and unloading of cassettes into the device, general maintenance, etc.)
  • Studies
  • Prepare autopsy stations
  • Receive and check animals from pet stores and, if necessary, install them in the accommodation room.
  • Perform anesthesia and euthanasia of animals.
  • Carry out standard sampling, observation and weighing techniques during autopsy sessions on all species used in toxicology.
  • Perform cesarean sections, collection and observation of fetuses on all species used in reproductive toxicology.
  • Ensure biological samples (Blood, Cephalal Spinal Fluid, amniotic fluid, etc.)

Documentation/Data

  • Perform handwritten data entry alone or using a computer system.
  • Check the samples and data recorded by another employee at the end of each autopsy and cesarean section.
  • Ensure the compilation of autopsy data and specimens and verify their integrity and completeness.
  • Archive data not linked to studies.
  • Quality Assurance, Regulations
  • Occasionally, reread PSOs
  • Participate in training for technical acts over which he or she has control, at the request of the training manager,

Participate in measuring past times.

Requirements

  • You have a Scientific Baccalaureate level and professional experience in this activity.
  • You hold level II animal experimentation and are trained and authorized by the Animal Welfare veterinarian to carry out euthanasia.
  • You are a meticulous person and know how to identify any simple anomaly or malfunction and inform those responsible immediately. Your professional integrity is impeccable.
  • Punctual and diligent, you know how to organize your workstation and you strictly respect ethics and safety rules.

Benefits

Remuneration based on profile and experience

Mileage allowances (home - work) + 13th month

Possibility of position during the week or weekend (Friday to Monday).
