Field service Technician

Role Summary

We are looking for a Port Field Technician to join our team in Las Palmas. As a Service Technician, you will be entrusted with the critical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks of various lifting equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include

Carry out preventative maintenance, upgrades and repairs across the entire range of our port cranes.

• Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns accurately and effectively
• Serve as a direct liaison with customers, our engineering department and our parent company teams to ensure smooth operations
• Identifying and reporting on potential sales opportunities during service calls
• Meticulously complete all required documentation
• Perform drive system repairs and upgrades with expertise and attention to detail

Requirements

• This role requires a high level of technical competence, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic port environment.
• Specialized training or equivalent in electrical disciplines.
• Experience in resolving electrical breakdowns and wiring.
• Ability to perform a plan reading.
• Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot
• Willingness to work shifts (mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends) and overtime as necessary
• Physical ability to climb stairs and work at height
• Interpersonal skills for a correct relationship with the client
• Valid driving license

Desirable Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in port crane assembly
• Experience in unloading ship cranes
• The ability to understand and communicate in English or other languages will be valued

Please note

• This position requires availability of shift work (morning-afternoon-evening-rest)
• This role requires a high level of technical competence and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic port environment.
• Overtime will be compensated accordingly.
• Candidates must be prepared for the physical demands of the position, including working at heights and in various weather conditions.
