Responsibilities

Mission of the role

You sit at a mission-critical interface: deep in VREY's operational energy data business. With the mandate to fundamentally automate this business through our own data analysis, tools and AI agents. You see the immediate effect of your work - every energy data ticket solved brings a project closer to billing, every agent built saves time for the entire team.

• Automation through data analysis and your own AI agents
• You analyze large amounts of data for patterns, outliers and recurring causes of errors - and make systematic findings from individual cases
• You build AI agents that independently diagnose errors and suggest or directly implement solutions
• You are the technical engine of our internal measuring point operation software: you recognize from day-to-day business what is missing, specify it and bring it into the product yourself

Understanding data quality and solving it operationally

• You ensure that our energy data is billable month after month - incomplete, contradictory or delayed data from a complex market environment becomes reliable figures
• You first solve the cases yourself instead of delegating them: only those who know the causes of errors can automate them
• You develop a deep understanding of a regulatory-dense field - we don't expect you to bring it with you, we expect you to sink your teeth into it
• Ownership & scaling of the MSB area
• You are the central person for all data concerns - internally for project and billing teams, externally for network operators and market partners - including prioritization, deadlines and escalation
• You build structure where today empirical knowledge only exists in the minds of individual people: documentation, clear processes, repeatable procedures
• You train interns and working students and accompany them until they become independent - your area grows with you

Requirements

• You have already gained initial experience in consulting (Tier 1/Tier 2), high-growth start-ups (ideally operations or process optimization), or in project management and have completed a degree in a relevant area
• Experience or strong interest in data analysis, automation and AI/LLM agents (e.g. Python, APIs, handling larger amounts of data)
• Very good understanding of numbers and data; Enjoy penetrating data quality problems systematically and based on data
• Desire for depth of content: You find it appealing to really penetrate a complex, regulatory-dense field instead of optimizing on the surface. Previous knowledge of the energy industry is a plus, but not a requirement - curiosity and speed of training count more
• Structured, conscientious way of working: you don't settle for "job completed", but rather check whether the result is correct in terms of content
• Personal responsibility and ownership mentality: you take over an area instead of just completing tasks; and strive to develop your full potential in this area
• You are consciously not looking for a 9-to-5 job, but rather want to take on responsibility, build structures and actively shape growth in a fast-paced, founder-oriented environment
• You are in Berlin (or ready to move) - our office is our home base
• You speak German and English fluently

About the Company

At VREY we build the EnergyOS for multi-family homes.

There are over 3.3 million apartment buildings in Germany - and they are the black hole of the energy transition. <1% solar penetration. <2% smart metering. Hardly any flexibility or intelligent energy management.

At the same time, regulation is forcing owners to make massive investments: solar is becoming mandatory, smart meters must be rolled out across the board in the next 5 years, heating and mobility are becoming electrified. From concrete gold, the apartment building becomes an active part of the decentralized energy infrastructure.

What is missing is an integrated system that makes this change economically and operationally manageable.

VREY combines certified metering point operation with its own software and, for the first time, enables owners to sell their self-generated solar power directly to their tenants - easily and without becoming an energy supplier themselves (§42b EnWG).

This turns regulatory pressure into a profitable and predictable opportunity:

• Double-digit returns and increased value for owners,
• ~20% electricity cost savings for tenants, and
• digital infrastructure for storage, heat pumps and flexibility.

We already manage a three-digit number of projects - including the largest property owners and housing associations - in all 16 federal states. This means that we are one of the leading providers in the market in a very short time.

As part of our seed financing, we raised €3.3 million from leading impact and energy VCs (including Rubio Impact Ventures, HTGF, Kopa Ventures). With the fresh capital, we are entering the next phase of growth and expanding our team in a targeted manner.
