Responsibilities

Mission of the role

You sit at a mission-critical interface: deep in the operational energy data business and with the mandate to fundamentally automate this business through your own data analysis, tools and AI agents. You see the immediate effect of your work - every ticket solved brings a project closer to billing, every agent built saves time for the entire team.

• Data analysis & automation through our own AI agents
• You analyze measured values, meter readings and shipping jobs for patterns, outliers and recurring causes of errors
• You translate this knowledge into AI agents that independently diagnose errors and suggest or implement solutions
• You are the technical engine of the measuring point operation (MSB) app: you identify from day-to-day business which features are missing, specify them and bring them into the product using your own development
• Operational energy data responsibility until it is ready for billing
• You bring projects to billing maturity month after month: correct missing or implausible measured values, create replacement values using reference profiles, mask values and have them recalculated
• You create shipping jobs, monitor their status and check the plausibility of the data after each fix
• You work daily in our partners' app and our internal MSB app along the standard MSB processes

Ownership & scaling of the MSB area

• You are responsible for all energy data tickets internally (project and billing teams) and externally (DSOs, suppliers, TSOs) - from acceptance to prioritization to resolution - and are the escalation authority for complex cases
• You keep an eye on the MSB-relevant mailboxes, assign messages from market partners to the correct processes and ensure that no deadline-relevant communication is lost
• You will teach interns and working students about processes, tools and the MSB Bible, accompany them until they become independent and keep the documentation up to date

Requirements

• You have already gained initial experience in consulting (Tier 1/Tier 2), high-growth start-ups (ideally operations or process optimization), or in project management and have completed a degree in a relevant area
• Experience or strong interest in data analysis, automation and AI/LLM agents (e.g. Python, APIs, handling larger amounts of data)
• Very good understanding of numbers and data; Enjoy penetrating data quality problems systematically and based on data
• Ideally experience in the energy industry/market communication (MaKo, metering point operation, GGV/tenant electricity, balancing) - or a clear willingness to quickly delve deeply into it.
• Structured, conscientious way of working: you don't settle for "job completed", but rather check whether the result is correct in terms of content
• Personal responsibility and ownership mentality: you take over an area instead of just completing tasks; and strive to develop your full potential in this area
• You are consciously not looking for a 9-to-5 job, but rather want to take on responsibility, build structures and actively shape growth in a fast-paced, founder-oriented environment
• You are in Berlin (or ready to move) - our office is our home base
• You speak German and English fluently

About the Company

At VREY we build the EnergyOS for multi-family homes.

There are over 3.3 million apartment buildings in Germany - and they are the black hole of the energy transition. <1% solar penetration. <2% smart metering. Hardly any flexibility or intelligent energy management.

At the same time, regulation is forcing owners to make massive investments: solar is becoming mandatory, smart meters must be rolled out across the board in the next 5 years, heating and mobility are becoming electrified. From concrete gold, the apartment building becomes an active part of the decentralized energy infrastructure.

What is missing is an integrated system that makes this change economically and operationally manageable.

VREY combines certified metering point operation with its own software and, for the first time, enables owners to sell their self-generated solar power directly to their tenants - easily and without becoming an energy supplier themselves (§42b EnWG).

This turns regulatory pressure into a profitable and predictable opportunity:

• Double-digit returns and increased value for owners,
• ~20% electricity cost savings for tenants, and
• digital infrastructure for storage, heat pumps and flexibility.

We already manage a three-digit number of projects - including the largest property owners and housing associations - in all 16 federal states. This means that we are one of the leading providers in the market in a very short time.

As part of our seed financing, we raised €3.3 million from leading impact and energy VCs (including Rubio Impact Ventures, HTGF, Kopa Ventures). With the fresh capital, we are entering the next phase of growth and expanding our team in a targeted manner.
