Senior Data Engineer – Data Architecture & Pipelining (H/F)

Role Summary

Within Sopra Steria Next, you will join the Architecture & Pipelining team, a collective of experts specializing in the design and implementation of modern Data platforms.

• Our team works on the most structuring subjects of Data programs:
• modernization of decision-making platforms;
• migrations to Snowflake, Databricks or Lakehouse architectures;
• industrialization of large-scale Data pipelines;
• optimization of Cloud Data architectures;

implementation of Data Products oriented platforms.

You will work alongside experienced Data and Cloud architects, in an environment where technical choices, quality of implementation and mastery of architectures are at the heart of projects.

Above all, we are looking for technology enthusiasts wishing to deepen their expertise and gradually evolve towards architectural responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Building modern Data platforms
• Design and develop robust and industrialized data pipelines
• Implement Data Lake, Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architectures
• Develop efficient processing in SQL, Spark and Python
• Participate in the implementation of next generation Cloud Data platforms
• Participate in architectural choices
• Contribute to the definition of target architectures
• Challenge technical choices and implementation patterns
• Participate in migration projects to Snowflake, Databricks or hybrid architectures
• Define industrialization, monitoring and observability standards
• Work on complex technical issues
• Performance and cost optimization
• Management of scalability and volumetry
• Orchestration and automation of processing
• Data virtualization and exposure via Denodo
• Setting up multi-cloud data environments
• Increase in expertise
• Work on a daily basis with recognized Data architects
• Participate in the group's communities of expertise
• Carry out active technological monitoring
• Contribute to the sharing of best practices and architectural standards

Requirements

• Profile sought
• Bac+5 in computer science or equivalent
• 7 to 15 years of experience in Data Engineering
• Significant experience on at least one of the following technologies:
• Snowflake
• Databricks
• Denodo
• Strong appetite for architecture and industrialization subjects

Technical skills

• Data Engineering and Pipeline Development
• Advanced SQL
• Spark and/or Python
• Modern Data Architectures (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Lake)
• Cloud: Azure, AWS or GCP
• Snowflake, Databricks or Denodo

Valued skills
