Data Engineer – Plateforme Data Engineering

Role Summary

• Large industrial environments face major challenges linked to data:
• Multiplication of information sources (business applications, PLM systems, databases, files, APIs, etc.)
• Heterogeneity of formats and models
• Growing need for reliable, qualified and up-to-date data
• Need for near real-time exchanges between systems

In this context, our teams participate in the implementation of modern Data Engineering platforms, aimed at industrializing and governing data flows. In this context, we are looking for a Data Engineer to actively participate in the design and development of these new data uses.

Techniques

• Mastery of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
• Knowledge or experience of the following technologies: Kafka, Flink, Airflow, dbt
• Understanding of modern data architectures (batch / streaming / event-driven)
• Sensitivity to performance and scalability issues

• Ability to operate in complex environments and to interact with business contacts (engineering processes and businesses)
• Good interpersonal skills and a taste for teamwork in an agile scrum format
• Autonomy and technological curiosity

Responsibilities

Integrated into a cross-functional or business squad, you will contribute to the implementation and development of a data platform:

Design and develop robust and scalable data pipelines

Set up ingestion flows from different sources: databases, files, APIs, events, etc.

• Structure and transform data according to a medallion architecture:
• Bronze: collection and storage of raw data
• Silver: qualification, cleaning, modeling
• Gold: consolidation and exposure of data products
• Guarantee the quality, consistency and freshness of data
• Industrialize batch and streaming processing
• Collaborate closely with business teams, architects and data analysts
• Participate in architectural choices and best practices (performance, security, governance)
• Technical environment

You will evolve in a modern data-oriented ecosystem

• Database: PostgreSQL
• Streaming / Event processing: Apache Flink, Kafka
• Orchestration: Airflow
• Transformation / Modeling: dbt
• Integration / CDC: Debezium (depending on use case)
• Application ecosystem & PLM: 3DX / Windchill / SAP / design office tools

Requirements

• Profile sought
• Graduate of an engineering school or university education (Bac+5), you ideally demonstrate:
• At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering or development with a strong data appetite
• A good understanding of data quality and modeling issues
• An appetite for complex systems and industrial environments
• Expected skills
