Occupational Safety Technician (Talent Bank) at Hitachi Energy in São Paulo, Brazil.
Role Summary
Responsible for carrying out technical activities in the area of Health, Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection of the designated Unit/Location, working on the maintenance of occupational accident and disease prevention programs, awareness and environmental awareness programs, carrying out inspections in the company's areas, checking health, work and safety conditions, carrying out risk analyzes or accident occurrences, guiding the appropriate use of Individual and Collective Protection Equipment (EPI's/EPC's), suggesting preventive measures or corrective measures, as well as verifying compliance with environmental requirements, aiming to protect the health and physical integrity of employees and compliance with regulatory standards and current legislation.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily inspections at the company's units to analyze situations of supposed danger and non-compliance based on standards, company procedures and legal requirements, to provide preventive and corrective actions in the company.
- Comply with company policies, standards and regulations, as well as legal requirements, responding to audit and certification programs (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001), supporting line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, responsibilities and how to fulfill their duties, in accordance with local Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) law and Hitachi Energy Group policy, instructions and standards.
- Instruct and guide employees regarding safe work standards and procedures, Health, Safety and Environmental concepts, use of protective equipment, among others, clarifying possible doubts.
- Release services in the Units, checking risk activities, defining procedures and PPE or EPCs involved, to guarantee the execution of services in an adequate and safe manner.
- Participate in meetings and the CIPA election, raising topics to be discussed, collaborating in situations and discussions, recording meeting minutes, aiming to comply with relevant legislation
- Carry out a survey of dangers and risks to which all workers are exposed in the activity, providing information for creating the professional profile of the positions, among other legal needs.
- Execute projects and routines related to health, safety and the environment, training, facilitating, and other factors relevant to their success and implementation, such as: (CIPA - Internal Accident Prevention Committee), SIPAT (Internal Week of Occupational Accident Prevention events), Integration Training, Issuance of PPRA, Reports on environmental conditions in the area, Environmental Operating License, Emergency Response Plan, Monitoring of ETE indicators (Effluent Treatment Plant), Sustainability Report, among other demands/projects in the area.
- Prepare/monitor basic Health, Safety and Environmental documents, including PPRA, CIPA, SESMT among others.
- Gather information and prepare statistical indicators of inspections carried out, occupational illnesses, work accidents and commuting, proposing corrective and preventive actions that allow the reduction of rates that are above acceptable limits.
- Carry out supervision of environmental programs and plans, through support in planning and implementation, as well as execution, control and application of environmental needs in compliance with established programs, requirements, commitments assumed and compliance with current legislation.
- Monitor and control: programs for the rational use of energy and water; Atmospheric emissions reduction programs; Social responsibility programs; Internal eco-efficiency guidelines and criteria for selecting suppliers, in conjunction with other areas of the company involved in the processes.
- Provide support in health, occupational safety and the environment in systems projects and other diverse areas throughout the company, contributing from the preparation of the proposal and throughout the process in the field, involving mobilization, construction, assembly, commissioning and demobilization.
Requirements
- Mandatory minimum education: Complete High School
- Technical training in the area of Occupational Safety, Health or Environment preferred
- Knowledge and application of Health, Occupational Safety and Integrity Policies and Standards. ABNT Regulatory and Technical Standards. Knowledge of ordinance 3214/78, social security legislation, NBRs and occupational safety legislation. First Aid, Fire Prevention and Fighting; Development of Prevention Programs in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health and the Environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 certifications is desirable
- Intermediate/advanced English
