Job description
- Location:
- Stuttgart, BW, Germany
- Work arrangement:
- On-site
Role Summary
Do you not only want to manage underwriting, but also develop it further?
In motor underwriting, we combine sound risk assessment and business decisions with data, digital tools and new opportunities through AI. As a group leader (m/f/d), you will lead an experienced underwriting team, be responsible for demanding motor vehicle business and, together with your team, shape how modern underwriting will work in the future.
You lead and develop your team.
You provide orientation, set clear priorities and create an environment in which employees can take responsibility, make decisions and develop professionally and personally.
You stand for professional underwriting.
When it comes to complex and economically significant motor vehicle risks, you act as a professional sparring partner and take on responsibility yourself if necessary. This includes, in particular, risk assessment, tariff setting and pricing, underwriting decisions, offer and contract design as well as support in demanding negotiations. You will ensure compliance with our underwriting guidelines, governance and compliance requirements.
You will further develop our underwriting.
Together with your team, you will question existing processes and decide where we can become simpler, faster and better. You advance standardization, automation and data-based decision support where they create real added value.
You make new technologies usable in everyday work.
AI-supported assistance systems, automated data extraction or intelligent risk analyzes are not abstract future topics for you. You identify concrete application possibilities, try out new tools and enable your team to use them responsibly. Technology should support underwriters – not replace their professional decisions.
You shape beyond your own team.
You work closely with sales, product management, actuarial, portfolio management, claims and IT. You represent the perspective of motor underwriting, bring together different interests and translate strategic goals into concrete changes in day-to-day business.
Requirements
- You know the commercial insurance business and have in-depth experience in underwriting - ideally in the motor or fleet business.
- You can assess risks and make decisions. At the same time, you don't see leadership as control, but rather as the task of giving people orientation, transferring responsibility and enabling development.
- You enjoy critically questioning existing processes and developing better solutions together with others. You view data, automation and AI as tools that can be used to further increase the quality and effectiveness of underwriting.
- You don't have to be an IT or AI specialist. It is crucial that you are curious, understand new possibilities and can translate them into concrete applications for your team.
- And finally: You can bring together different perspectives, make clear decisions and design change so that it actually works in everyday work.
Benefits
- You will take on a responsible leadership role in a central business area. At the same time, you will have the freedom to further develop motor underwriting professionally, organizationally and technologically together with an experienced team.
- In short, we are not looking to manage existing underwriting. We are looking for someone who has mastered professional underwriting - and is keen to open the next chapter together with his team.
