Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (m/w/d) Azure & Kubernetes

Role Summary

As a technical thought leader, you will design a modern platform landscape in Microsoft Azure for the operation of new and innovative composite private customer applications. You will shape the structure and productive operation of the Kubernetes platform and databases.

With modern cloud technologies, you create the basis for agile development and DevSecOps teams to deploy and operate their applications securely, stably and automatically. You will also integrate standard software precisely into the R+V system landscape and work closely with the team as well as the professional and technical stakeholders.

You will be responsible for the configuration and operation of complex and business-critical cloud and platform solutions. You integrate these solutions into the existing IT system landscape and develop viable technical concepts together with the teams involved.

With Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD you optimize the automation of the infrastructure and operational processes. In addition, you promote the responsible use of AI in platform operation, automation and to support software development.

In your area of responsibility, you ensure quality, stability, performance, observability, error analysis, migrations, IT security and documentation. You translate regulatory requirements, security standards and architectural guidelines into practical solutions and processes.

In agile, cross-ART collaboration, you advise technical and business stakeholders, provide technical guidance to engineers and create decision templates. You combine technological possibilities with the requirements of the business. You impart your knowledge in workshops, communities and other exchange formats.

Requirements

• You have several years of comprehensive professional experience as a platform, cloud, infrastructure or DevOps engineer as well as an IT-related degree, training or comparable qualification.
• You have in-depth, practical knowledge of Microsoft Azure, especially Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and e.g. B. Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Servers. You use these to build and operate complex, productive and business-critical platforms.
• Experience with Camunda or comparable workflow and process automation platforms is desirable. In addition, you know the requirements of Java-based development, integration and operating environments.
• You are confident in modern automation approaches such as Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD, for example with OpenTofu or comparable technologies.
• You combine knowledge of AI technologies and their possible applications in the development and platform context with a good understanding of IT security, regulation, monitoring and stable platform operation.
• Strategic thinking, personal responsibility and solution orientation are among your strengths. You will communicate complex technical contexts in an appropriate manner and take on technical leadership in cross-ART collaboration.
• Your knowledge of German corresponds to at least level B2, ideally C1.
