Construction Director (f/m/d) EPCM Industry – Management of large projects in power plant and plant construction

Role Summary

We provide the design of the technical systems and buildings in-house, as well as all other services in the project's value chain. We are looking for you and your extensive expertise to manage and control the construction, assembly and commissioning of highly complex EPCM projects.

You can carry out this activity at a Drees & Sommer location of your choice, e.g. in Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main, Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, Leipzig or Berlin.

We require the willingness to monitor the execution process of our demanding plant construction projects on site at the respective construction sites.

Overarching overall project management for the construction, assembly and commissioning of large-volume industrial plants in the area of power plant and plant construction

Assumption of responsibility for the setup of the projects as well as the monitoring and control of the work processes

Overall responsibility for the timely, quality and cost-effective processing of the task packages in the work preparation as well as the construction, assembly and commissioning phases of the respective projects

• Content and organizational leadership responsibility of the interdisciplinary construction site and project managers in the various specialist trades
• Planning, controlling and coordinating the necessary capacities and resources with a view to achieving the goals of the projects
• Regular reporting to stakeholders involved in the project and central contact person for authorities, our customers and the clients on the construction sites
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and occupational safety measures including regular monitoring with regard to their implementation
• Actively and continuously optimizing internal processes and procedures as well as promoting and developing subordinate staff

Requirements

• Successfully completed studies in civil engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable qualification
• Many years of professional and management experience in a comparable position, with overall responsibility for the construction, assembly and commissioning of industrial projects, ideally in the EPC/EPCM environment
• Experience in the power plant and process technology, petrochemical, life science and semiconductor industries is an advantage
• Very good knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written
• Unrestricted willingness to stay on construction sites throughout Germany, and in the future also in Europe
• Independent, conceptual, structured and cross-disciplinary way of working
• Solution-oriented negotiation skills and a good feel for people and issues
