In this Staff Back-end Software Engineer position, you will join the Liga de Buyers Recommendation team, which aims to facilitate the browsing and search journey of our buyers, delivering intelligent and contextual ad suggestions in real time, boosting interaction on the platform.

Previous experience in Search, Recommendation, Personalization or E-commerce teams.

Requirements

On a daily basis you will

• Lead the technical architecture and systems design of the Recommendation team on a large scale, ensuring low latency, high availability and resilience.
• Act as a technical reference on the team, promoting best practices and raising the team's bar of excellence in software engineering.
• Evolve critical microservices in Kotlin, applying code design, concurrency, and testing best practices.
• Facilitate technical discussions and align architectural solutions with product managers, data scientists and engineers on the team.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of high-throughput distributed systems, identifying bottlenecks before they impact the buyer's experience.
• And what do you need to have?
• Solid previous experience as a Staff Engineer working in the construction and evolution of microservices architectures and large distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience in Kotlin (and/or modern Java).
• Knowledge in Machine Learning, understanding the life cycle of models (training, inference, feature stores, prediction latency) to actively collaborate with Data Scientists.
• Experience in AWS, with good CI/CD practices, observability and DevOps culture.
• Good communication and technical mentoring skills, with the ability to translate technical complexity and guide the team's deliveries.
