Role Summary

The main mission of the assistant physician within the UHPA (Adolescent Psychiatric Hospitalization Unit) will be to actively participate in the assessment, monitoring and care of adolescents suffering from psychological distress, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. He or she will help ensure the quality of care in a hospital environment, in a therapeutic framework adapted to the specificities of the adolescent population.

Responsibilities

For this the missions are as follows

  • Perform child psychiatric assessments of patients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the child psychiatry team
  • Ensure clinical follow-up of hospitalized patients, monitoring their progress and readjusting treatment plans according to changes in their state of health
  • Prescribing and managing psychiatric medications
  • Caring for adolescents in psychiatric crisis situations (acute crises, suicide attempts, behavioral disorders)

Intervene in the event of an acute psychiatric crisis and provide emergency care for hospitalized adolescents.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records
  • Offer family support in addition to individual patient care
  • Participate in the development and implementation of child psychiatry protocols and procedures for the inpatient sector
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in on-call duties for child psychiatric emergencies external to the unit

Requirements

  • Possession of a medical diploma or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions (MEBEKO) is mandatory.
  • At least 1 year of assistantship experience in adult psychiatry or pediatrics is required; at least 1 year of experience in psychiatry and psychotherapy for children and adolescents would be ideal.
  • A proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
  • A strong commitment to medical education and dissemination of knowledge is required.
  • Mastery of the French language at a minimum B2 level is necessary.

The Child Psychiatry Department of the Mental Health Center of the ARC Network is an ISFM training establishment (in the process of being recognized for category B) for hospital and outpatient activity.
