Role Summary

In your capacity as a senior doctor, you evolve in a stimulating university environment, within a multidisciplinary team and are required or required to participate in the clinical activities of the gastroenterology and hepatology department.

You assist the head physician of the department and the assistant physicians in the care, coordination of practical activities, clinical, therapeutic and endoscopic interventions of the patients entrusted to you or entrusted to you. You participate in the second-line specialty guard system.

Demonstrating a confirmed interest in teaching, you participate in pre/post-graduate and continuing education in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Dynamic, flexible and engaged or engaged, you develop interdisciplinary clinical projects. You deploy and carry out research in the unit.

Requirements

You hold a federal medical diploma and have obtained an FMH specialist title in gastroenterology and hepatology. If your diploma and specialization come from a foreign country, you have obtained or will have to obtain recognition by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).

You benefit from several years of experience in gastroenterology and hepatology with recognized hyperspecialization in interventional endoscopy (ERCP, digestive stents, EMR, ESD) and diagnostic and therapeutic digestive ultrasound endoscopy (more than 5 years independently). If you have an in-depth training diploma in interventional endoscopy and echoendoscopy, this would be an asset.

  • You also hold a doctoral thesis, a private doctoral degree or a title deemed equivalent. You are in possession of or will need to obtain a Geneva cantonal practice right.
  • For non-French-speaking applications, French level C1 in the spoken and written test is required.
  • With excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with patients, you are a dynamic, flexible and committed person. In addition, you have demonstrated strong adaptation skills.
  • You demonstrate open-mindedness and possess leadership qualities allowing you to supervise and supervise interns and clinical heads as well as support and motivate staff. You have demonstrated teaching skills and have a strong taste for research and innovation.

The Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Department provides non-surgical diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients suffering from diseases of the digestive tract, liver, bile ducts and pancreas, taking into account the services provided by other HUG departments. It provides endoscopic, percutaneous and transhepatic interventional services for the aforementioned organs. He actively participates in the Center for Hepato-Biliary and Pancreatic Diseases: a reference center in Switzerland. More than 1000 cases per year are discussed there. He cares for patients suffering from liver, bile duct and pancreas diseases. These files, which are most often complex, require the advice of several specialists.
