Role Summary

As a full member of our highly qualified and specialized team, you will work directly on extremely interesting problem solutions and experience a company that has set itself high standards in order to make a decisive contribution to climate neutrality. As part of your job, you can also gain a deeper insight into the expansion of renewable energies and new projects (such as the expansion of the hydrogen network) at BEW Berliner Energie undwärme GmbH and be involved in them.

• A variety of tasks await you in your chosen station in the following areas:
• Energy, business, public and environmental law
• Unfair competition law and distribution law
• General and special contract law
• Data protection law
• Procurement law
• Bankruptcy law
• Corporate law
• Antitrust law

Responsibilities

• You work closely with the legal department and the relevant departments and answer inquiries from the departments.
• The respective legal advice is provided both for BEW Berliner Energie undwärme GmbH itself and for its subsidiaries.
• You create statements and prepare briefs that you coordinate with the relevant departments and present to the respective department and your team.
• You deal with current judgments and laws, evaluate them and apply them to current topics and inquiries.
• You take part in internal and external appointments, including in court, and in day-to-day business.

Requirements

• You have completed your law studies with the first state examination and would like to complete your elective internship as a trainee lawyer in the legal department of a company.
• You are interested in the legal areas and areas of responsibility mentioned above.
• You are also interested in energy industry topics and the associated energy transition.
• You enjoy working with other departments, are communicative and team-oriented.
• You have very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English (spoken and written).

As BEW Berliner Energie undwärme GmbH, we supply the capital with climate-friendly electricity and heat. At more than 2,000 kilometers long, our district heating network is the largest in Western Europe. We supply around a third of Berlin households with heat.

With the know-how of our 2,300 employees, we cover the entire district heating value chain - from generation to network operation and expansion to sales. We are working hard to phase out coal by 2030 and to achieve climate-neutral production from 2045. In this way, we are significantly supporting the state of Berlin in achieving its climate goals.
