Responsibilities

Mission of the role

• You will work directly with Cedric, our COO & Co-Founder, and further expand VREY's operational foundation.
• Your goal: to translate contracts into scalable reality (“live projects”) and to shape a structured, powerful operating model out of growing complexity.
• Technical implementation of decentralized energy systems
• You plan and control the operational implementation of PV and measurement concept projects
• You ensure the correct implementation of energy industry requirements (e.g. §42b EnWG, MSB processes).
• You coordinate network operators, installers and internal teams as part of project implementation
• Measurement concepts & energy industry process architecture
• You create and test measurement concepts for apartment buildings
• You are responsible for your own projects and ensure the correct measurement, accounting and billing processes
• You translate regulatory requirements into reliable operational standards
• Process stability & continuous optimization
• You analyze operational processes and identify risks and optimization potential
• You implement structured improvement measures based on KPIs
• You reduce manual sources of error through standardization and automation

Requirements

• You have already gained several years of experience in operations or project management - preferably in the energy or real estate industry
• You have a completed degree or a comparable qualification in a relevant field such as engineering, business administration, electrical engineering or energy management
• You have a strong interest in energy, start-ups or real estate
• You have in-depth knowledge of energy industry processes - especially in areas such as measurement concepts, balancing or billing (EnWG, MSB processes)
• You work in a structured, process-reliable manner and think in end-to-end processes
• You are confident in dealing with data and systems and enjoy analyzing and optimizing processes based on data
• You are in Berlin (or ready to move) – our office is our home base
• You speak German and English fluently

About the Company

At VREY we build the EnergyOS for multi-family homes.

There are over 3.3 million apartment buildings in Germany - and they are the black hole of the energy transition. <1% solar penetration. <2% smart metering. Hardly any flexibility or intelligent energy management.

At the same time, regulation is forcing owners to make massive investments: solar is becoming mandatory, smart meters must be rolled out across the board in the next 5 years, heating and mobility are becoming electrified. From concrete gold, the apartment building becomes an active part of the decentralized energy infrastructure.

What is missing is an integrated system that makes this change economically and operationally manageable.

VREY combines certified metering point operation with its own software and, for the first time, enables owners to sell their self-generated solar power directly to their tenants - easily and without becoming an energy supplier themselves (§42b EnWG).

This turns regulatory pressure into a profitable and predictable opportunity:

• Double-digit returns and increased value for owners,
• ~20% electricity cost savings for tenants, and
• digital infrastructure for storage, heat pumps and flexibility.

We already manage a three-digit number of projects - including the largest property owners and housing associations - in all 16 federal states. This means that we are one of the leading providers in the market in a very short time.

As part of our seed financing, we raised €3.3 million from leading impact and energy VCs (including Rubio Impact Ventures, HTGF, Kopa Ventures). With the fresh capital, we are entering the next phase of growth and expanding our team in a targeted manner.
