Role Summary

The opportunity to seize!

You will join the Digital Platform Services (DPS) division within the Sopra Steria Lyon agency, made up of around a hundred employees.

Depending on the missions entrusted to you, you are required to evolve within Sopra Steria internal teams in outsourcing type services or you are directly integrated into client teams. You are supported by a dynamic team who will make you take an active part in the project as a whole.

Throughout your career in the Group, you are supported by your single manager, who is closely present on your mission, and who supports you in your career development.

Your role and missions

As a Linux Systems Engineer, your role is to satisfy production requests and customer projects on different technologies.

You maintain and administer customer infrastructures

• You manage the availability of customer infrastructures
• You administer Linux components, in a virtualized or on-premise environment
• You are in charge of support for Linux environments and carrying out current operations and maintenance

You document and monitor

You are in charge of writing and maintaining operational documentation

You generate activity and capacity reports for Linux system infrastructures

You resolve incidents and contribute to projects

• You process and monitor the resolution of incidents across all customer infrastructures
• You are involved in Linux infrastructure development projects
• Possibility of participating in on-call duties

Requirements

Graduate of an engineering school or equivalent, you already have significant experience in a similar role.

• You master the following skills and knowledge (certifications appreciated):
• Unix/Linux operating system
• Virtualization (VMware ESX, RHEV, KVM)
• Clustering (Symantec...)
• Scripting (Python, Perl, PHP, Shell...)
• Open Source and Cloud technologies (OpenShift, AWS, GCP, Azure)
• You have experience of missions managed in agile ITIL or CI/CD mode.
• You don't know all the technologies mentioned? Don't panic, thanks to the Sopra Steria Academy and its numerous training courses and certifications, we support you in developing your skills.
