Role Summary

We are looking for an ITO 10 – Risk Prevention and Environment to work on the Nueva Pichirropulli 220 kV Substation project, responsible for inspecting and supervising compliance with safety, occupational health and environmental standards during the execution of the works.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify compliance with risk prevention, safety and environmental measures during the execution of the project.
• Supervise compliance with current legal regulations, internal procedures and safety standards established for electrical transmission works.
• Carry out periodic field inspections, identifying substandard conditions and acts.
• Verify the correct implementation of control measures for High Voltage work, assembly, civil works and construction activities.
• Review safe work procedures, risk matrices, work permits and contractor's preventive documentation.
• Control the proper use of PPE and compliance with established safety measures.
• Participate in the investigation and monitoring of incidents, accidents and safety deviations.
• Monitor compliance with the project's commitments and environmental management measures.
• Verify the proper management of waste, substances, emissions, excavations and other environmental aspects associated with construction activities.
• Record and track observations, findings and non-conformities until closure.
• Prepare reports and inspection reports related to safety, occupational health and the environment.
• Coordinate with contractors, supervisors and ITO team the necessary actions to maintain safe and environmentally adequate conditions on the ground.

Requirements

• Training: Risk Prevention Engineer, Risk Prevention and Environmental Engineer, Risk Prevention Technician or equivalent professional.
• Experience: Verifiable experience in risk prevention and/or the environment in construction projects, ideally in electrical substations, transmission lines and High Voltage works.
• ITO Experience: Previous experience working as an ITO, Safety Inspector, Risk Preventionist or HSE professional in electrical infrastructure projects is desirable.
• Technical knowledge: Management of occupational health and safety regulations, safe work procedures, risk matrices, operational control, incident investigation and environmental management applicable to construction and electrical transmission projects.
• Residence: A professional resident in the area of Pichirropulli, Paillaco, La Unión, Río Bueno, Valdivia or nearby towns is required, or with the availability to move and remain in the area during the execution of the project.
