Cloud Engineer (m/w/d)

Role Summary

You develop, automate and operate our landing zone, creating the basis on which all R+V cloud projects run securely, stably and efficiently.

Central security and compliance issues are your responsibility. You ensure that our environments comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

You will work with other cloud, security and application teams, translate business and technical requirements into viable cloud solutions and make architectural and design decisions.

You analyze problems and implement sustainable improvements in system performance, reliability, security and costs.

Requirements

• You have either completed a degree in computer science or a comparable field, have appropriate training or have other relevant practical professional experience in the IT environment and feel comfortable in our tech stack: Public Cloud, Opentofu, CI/CD Gitlab, Python, Bash
• Practical experience in the cloud environment sets you apart, ideally as a cloud or security engineer. You are also familiar with the structure and operation of cloud infrastructures (e.g. virtual networks, company connections, firewalls).
• You work with OpenTofu and create structured, modular and reusable IaC code. Automating recurring tasks with Bash, PowerShell or Python is second nature to you.
• Ideally, you have an understanding of security, compliance and governance (e.g. policies, RBAC and compliance reporting).
• Ideally, you already have experience with monitoring and use this for transparency, error analysis and optimization.
• Good knowledge of spoken and written German (at least level B2) as well as experience in the agile working world round off your profile.
