Role Summary

This is a remote position.

TEHORA is currently looking for a technology architect with excellent technical skills, excellent knowledge and who wishes to use their skills within a versatile team.

Without being exhaustive, here are the services and deliverables that the successful candidate must provide.

The technology architect is notably responsible for

assess the impact of technological solutions that will potentially have to be adopted on business needs, determine the most appropriate solutions, and ensure their feasibility and alignment with the overall architecture of the organization;

identify potential issues for the evolution of systems and technologies by putting current and future needs into perspective;

anticipate the evolution of systems to facilitate the exploitation of data, taking into account the challenges posed by the obsolescence of legacy systems and the requirements of modern technologies;

document the current state of the organization's systems ecosystem and chart its evolution by leveraging industry architecture frameworks to facilitate understanding of their architecture. This framework will be particularly useful for understanding data sources and flows, links between systems, different user profiles and their interaction with systems, etc.

Technological sphere

  • Microsoft Azure cloud services;
  • modern security protocols (OAuth2, OpenIDConnect);
  • industry frameworks such as Vue.js, React, Angular;
  • C/C++ and SQL programming languages;
  • automation tools, including Powershell and the Azure CLI;

data programming languages (SQL, Python, R, Scala).

Sphere of architecture

  • classic multi-tier architectures (2 tiers, 3 tiers, n-tiers);
  • web architectures such as Serverless, SPA PWA, API/GraphQL;
  • distributed system architectures (Service Bus, SOA, micro-services);
  • deployment architectures such as monoliths, SOA and containers;
  • classic design patterns (singleton, factory, observer, repository, etc.) and “anti-patterns”;
  • dependency architecture, modularity and refactoring practices recognized by the industries;
  • TOGAF and/or Zachmann architectural frameworks;
  • business domain-driven design (DDD), SOLID principles and object-oriented development;

data design patterns (ETL, Datamart, Star schema, OLAP, ODS, Pipeline).

WORKPLACE

The place of work will be determined according to the mandate, it can be teleworking or at the client's site.

Responsibilities

The main activities of the technology architect include

  • participate in the realization of the strategic vision of software solutions, based on organizational strategies and architectural principles;
  • contribute to the evaluation of the maturity of software solutions and participate in plans to ensure their sustainability by recommending solutions aimed at reducing technological debt or carrying out a technological transition and the various follow-ups with the teams;
  • support efforts to develop solutions to ensure quality, security, confidentiality, performance and robustness;
  • act as a reference as an expert in technological solutions on technological orientations and the architecture of software solutions to the teams;
  • ensure the optimal functioning of best practices, such as continuous integration and deployment, automation and testing, etc.;
  • guide the evolution of the different software components, tools and libraries, in partnership with the platform team;
  • work with the architecture team and development teams to identify and improve interdependencies between software solutions and their potential integrations if applicable;
  • support and train team members, as needed;
  • carry out technological monitoring, evaluate new technological components and define proofs of concept in order to improve the effectiveness of software solutions;
  • produce the documents and diagrams essential to understanding the sector's software solutions;
  • propose recommendations to management on technological directions, investments, risks and potential impacts of the technologies used for all solutions.

Requirements

Description of work or deliverables

The technology architect will be responsible for formalizing the architecture of existing technological solutions and developing a roadmap for the future evolution of the systems by taking into account the technical issues and the objectives of data exploitation, as well as the operational mode of the organization.

He must have a thorough understanding of the architecture and issues related to legacy solutions, as well as the benefits of adopting the technologies used by modern solutions. His work will consist of understanding and translating the organization's business needs into viable solutions, and defining a roadmap in order to overcome the challenges of current solutions and capitalize on their strengths.

  • The main emphasis will be on the alignment of systems rather than their design, while requiring in-depth knowledge of their current state and their potential for evolution.
  • The architect must be comfortable communicating, explaining and defending the strategies and directions they propose according to their discipline or mandate because they may be required to communicate this information to various levels of management.
  • have at least eight (8) active years of experience as a technological solution architecture advisor;
  • have completed over the last five (5) years, at least three (3) solution architecture mandates with the aim of proposing system optimization and transformation scenarios;
  • have previously worked with .NET development frameworks from 4.8 to 7;
  • Have previous experience working in the Visual Studio and Git development environment.
