Responsibilities

Mission of the role

• You are responsible for the operational implementation of our energy projects in apartment buildings - from the signed contract to the successful go-live.
• Your goal: bring projects live quickly, in a regulatory-clean and scalable manner - and from this develop a resilient operating model for hundreds of projects per year.
• End-to-end implementation of energy projects
• You take projects from contract conclusion to go-live and are responsible for timely commissioning and error-free system mapping
• You manage installers, network operators and internal teams independently
• You ensure clean regulatory implementation (e.g. §42b EnWG, MSB processes).
• Building scalable energy operations
• You develop standardized project structures and clear handover processes
• You reduce operational complexity as project volumes grow
• You establish a repeatable rollout model for several hundred projects per year
• Process & system architecture
• You translate energy industry requirements into stable measurement, balancing and billing processes
• You identify bottlenecks, track operational KPIs and implement concrete improvement measures
• You automate recurring processes and increase scalability and quality

Requirements

• You have already gained initial experience in consulting (Tier 1/Tier 2), high-growth start-ups (ideally operations or process optimization), or in project management
• You have a completed degree or a comparable qualification in a relevant area such as industrial engineering or business administration
• You think entrepreneurially, make informed decisions independently and set clear priorities with a view to impact, scalability and long-term business success
• You have a strong interest in start-ups, energy or real estate
• You are consciously not looking for a 9-to-5 job, but rather want to take on responsibility, build structures and actively shape growth in a fast-paced, founder-oriented environment
• You strive to become the best version of yourself and seek environments in which you can develop your full potential
• You are in Berlin (or ready to move) - our office is our home base
• You speak German and English fluently

About the Company

At VREY we build the EnergyOS for multi-family homes.

There are over 3.3 million apartment buildings in Germany - and they are the black hole of the energy transition. <1% solar penetration. <2% smart metering. Hardly any flexibility or intelligent energy management.

At the same time, regulation is forcing owners to make massive investments: solar is becoming mandatory, smart meters must be rolled out across the board in the next 5 years, heating and mobility are becoming electrified. From concrete gold, the apartment building becomes an active part of the decentralized energy infrastructure.

What is missing is an integrated system that makes this change economically and operationally manageable.

VREY combines certified metering point operation with its own software and, for the first time, enables owners to sell their self-generated solar power directly to their tenants - easily and without becoming an energy supplier themselves (§42b EnWG).

This turns regulatory pressure into a profitable and predictable opportunity:

• Double-digit returns and increased value for owners,
• ~20% electricity cost savings for tenants, and
• digital infrastructure for storage, heat pumps and flexibility.

We already manage a three-digit number of projects - including the largest property owners and housing associations - in all 16 federal states. This means that we are one of the leading providers in the market in a very short time.

As part of our seed financing, we raised €3.3 million from leading impact and energy VCs (including Rubio Impact Ventures, HTGF, Kopa Ventures). With the fresh capital, we are entering the next phase of growth and expanding our team in a targeted manner.
