Responsibilities

Mission of the role

• You will work directly with Cedric, our COO & Co-Founder, and further expand VREY's operational foundation.
• Your goal: to translate contracts into scalable reality and to shape a structured, powerful operating model out of growing complexity.
• End-to-end ownership of operational projects
• You ensure that operational initiatives and projects are implemented reliably, data-based and in compliance with the law
• You take on your own areas of responsibility early on with clearly defined outcomes
• You coordinate internal teams and external partners independently
• Development and further development of our operating model
• You develop scalable structures, standards and decision-making processes for hundreds of projects per year
• You analyze operational processes and systematically reduce complexity
• You work closely with the COO on strategic operations topics
• Performance & process optimization
• You track operational KPIs, prepare the basis for decision-making for the leadership team and derive concrete measures
• You identify bottlenecks and implement sustainable improvements
• You drive automation and data-based decision making

Requirements

• You have already gained initial experience in the form of internships in consulting, VC-backed start-ups (e.g. operations or process optimization), or in VC
• You have a completed degree or a comparable qualification in a relevant area such as industrial engineering or business administration
• You think entrepreneurially, make informed decisions independently and set clear priorities with a view to impact, scalability and long-term business success
• You have a strong interest in start-ups, energy or real estate
• You are consciously not looking for a 9-to-5 job, but rather want to take on responsibility, build structures and actively shape growth in a fast-paced, founder-oriented environment
• You strive to become the best version of yourself and seek environments in which you can develop your full potential
• You are in Berlin (or ready to move) – our office is our home base
• You speak German and English fluently

About the Company

At VREY we build the EnergyOS for multi-family homes.

There are over 3.3 million apartment buildings in Germany - and they are the black hole of the energy transition. 1% solar penetration. 2% smart metering. Hardly any flexibility or intelligent energy management.

At the same time, regulation is forcing owners to make massive investments: solar is becoming mandatory, smart meters must be rolled out across the board in the next 5 years, heating and mobility are becoming electrified. From concrete gold, the apartment building becomes an active part of the decentralized energy infrastructure.

What is missing is an integrated system that makes this change economically and operationally manageable.

VREY combines certified metering point operation with its own software and, for the first time, enables owners to sell their self-generated solar power directly to their tenants - easily and without becoming an energy supplier themselves (§42b EnWG).

This turns regulatory pressure into a profitable and predictable opportunity:

• Double-digit returns and increased value for owners,
• ~20% electricity cost savings for tenants, and
• digital infrastructure for storage, heat pumps and flexibility.

We already manage a three-digit number of projects - including the largest property owners and housing associations - in all 16 federal states. This means that we are one of the leading providers in the market in a very short time.

As part of our seed financing, we raised €3.3 million from leading impact and energy VCs (including Rubio Impact Ventures, HTGF, Kopa Ventures). With the fresh capital, we are entering the next phase of growth and expanding our team in a targeted manner.
