Role Summary
This is a remote position.
TEHORA is currently looking for an IDMS database administrator with excellent technical skills, excellent knowledge and who wishes to leverage their skills within a versatile team.
Without being exhaustive, here are the services and deliverables that the successful candidate must provide.
Deliverables
- Optimized and documented model;
- Modeling documentation according to current principles and guidance, including:
- o logical structure of data;
- o database structure;
- o “director” principles and rules;
- o scripts (sources) of database components;
- o documented conversion strategies;
- o integration and testing strategies;
- Modeling documentation similar to the previous ones but adapted for agile development;
- Sources distributed and operational in the various development environments (unit/acceptance/training);
- Production environments defined and optimized on production servers;
- Documented analyzes of load and space requirements;
- Documented optimization choices (alternatives/choices/arguments);
- Documented production launch strategy;
- Results of the production simulation (listing, etc.);
- Impact studies on the IDMS fixes to be implemented;
- Planning of activities for the implementation of IDMS patches;
- Recommendations to authorities regarding the deployment of patches;
- Recommendations regarding the performance of IDMS;
Any documents underlying the preceding responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Description of work or deliverables
- become familiar with the conceptual model of the domain concerned;
- analyze data access needs with system analysts;
- optimize and complete the definition of conceptual and logical data models;
- update the physical data model;
update all the deliverables identified in the architecture phase that concerns it, namely: the “implementer” principles and rules, the logical structure of the data and the structure of the databases;
- specify, with the internal manager, the database development environments and the phases to be used;
- develop the database;
- provide support to system developers;
- participate in completing the integration and testing strategy document for aspects relating to the administration of test data;
- prepare development, testing, training and production components;
- participate in conversion activities;
- participate in simulation activities for production;
- migrate components to production;
- provide support during running-in and make improvements to obtain the expected performance of the databases;
- see to the recurring maintenance of the database;
- participate in problem solving by carrying out the analysis, identifying the impacts, proposing the appropriate solution and implementing this solution;
- participate in experimental work on functionalities linked to the DBMS;
- participate in DBMS-related proofs of concept;
- Monitor technological developments and identify improvements to be made, in line with your responsibilities;
- Collaborate with the technical team in resolving problems and identifying priorities for improvement for each of the activities under their responsibility;
- Be responsible for the availability, performance and maintenance of servers and storage units;
- Act as an advisor in the development of projects and solutions in the technical department;
- Participate in user support;
- Carry out knowledge transfer to prepare for the next generation;
Carry out all other activities related to this mandate.
Requirements
- Have ten years of experience as a database administrator in the IDMS database management system;
- Accumulate four years of experience configuring databases and data environments that must support a high level of service (performance), while ensuring a high level of security and data confidentiality;
- Have participated as a DBA in two (2) projects of 5,000 person days or more, in an environment comparable to that of the organization, having to ensure the deployment of databases and support to the development team;
- Demonstrate that the resource has four years of experience on z/Os;
- Demonstrate that the resource has two years of experience with SQL-IDMS and Data sharing;
- Have excellent knowledge of the Z/OS operating system (central platform or mainframe);

- Demonstrate that the resource has seven years of experience with the customer information control system (CICS), in the context of using the IDMS DBMS (Broadcom)
- Demonstrate that the resource has five years of experience with the Assembler and Cobol programming languages;

The place of work will be determined according to the mandate, it can be teleworking or at the client's site.
