Role Summary

This is a remote position.

TEHORA is currently looking for a project management expert with excellent technical skills, excellent knowledge and who wishes to use their skills within a versatile team.

Without being exhaustive, here are the services and deliverables that the successful candidate must provide.

Planning phase

Carry out, in collaboration with the project manager, the architect and the client/product manager/pilot, the pre-elicitation activities to identify the requirements collection work and ensure the participation of the relevant stakeholders;

  • Identify the elicitation and analysis activities to be carried out;
  • Integrate the business analysis approach into the project approach (traditional or hybrid agile);
  • Understand and document the context of the client/user/stakeholders;
  • Analyze and interpret the objectives, results and expected benefits;
  • Identify transition requirements as well as performance indicators and validation criteria;
  • Share the project vision with the implementation team/project team;
  • Describe the complex areas of the project/program;
  • Act as a facilitator to help the project clearly define the scope of the project and the scope of the solution;
  • Act as a facilitator to help define the interfaces between the projects of a program;
  • Identify risks to requirements;
  • Analyze, model and cut the scope;
  • Document the elements of the project scope;

Any other analysis activities required for the planning phase.

  • Register of risks, issues and outstanding points (to requirements)

  • Documentation of transition requirements (deployment and operations needs)
  • Documenting improvements for operations
  • Documentation of workarounds
  • Record of decisions Deliverables specific to the traditional approach:
  • Business analysis activity plan
  • Report of requirements elicitation meetings
  • Requirements Elicitation Progress Report
  • Impact analysis of change requests
  • Tracking change requests
  • Tracking acceptance test results
  • Documentation of the operation of the Deliverables solution specific to the agile approach
  • Roadmap
  • List of epics (Epics)
  • Prioritized product backlog

Specification of requirements (User stories with acceptance criteria and dependency/sequence if necessary (User story)) The Project Office has set up several templates which must be used for certain deliverables.

Mandatory knowledge

Mastery of methodologies, techniques and tools to facilitate business analysis work;

Masters data modeling, processing and process techniques.

  • General knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP);
  • Advanced command of the French language, both oral and written;
  • Functional command of the English language;
  • Mastery of a suite of office tools such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

Knowledge required for certain mandates

  • Proficiency in Atlassian JIRA or a similar tool;
  • Diagramming tool such as Visio;
  • General knowledge of business analysis principles (BABOK)

General knowledge of LEAN and DevOps principles.

Operational skills

Plan business analysis activities and integrate them into the project plan using your expertise as a lever to accelerate the project;

Responsibilities

Justification phase

  • Lead brainstorming sessions and act as a facilitator to help stakeholders (business unit and IT department) clarify the objectives, expected results of the initiative as well as the expected benefits;
  • Prepare all information necessary for presentation at the point of transition from justification to start-up;
  • Any other analysis activities required for the justification phase.
  • Start-up phase
  • Prepare and lead workshops to confirm objectives and translate them into requirements;
  • Act as a facilitator to assess needs and fuel reflection on major directions in terms of strategic plan, information systems and technological orientation;
  • Analyze current state, target state and identify gaps
  • ○ Analyze and document current processes;
  • ○ Analyze and document future processes;
  • ○ Identify improvement opportunities to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify the capabilities and requirements required to support the transition to the new solution;
  • Support the documentation of the business file and the identification of the benefits brought by the realization of an IT project;
  • Prepare all the information necessary for the presentation at the point of transition from start-up to planning;

Any other analysis activities required for the start-up phase.

Execution phase

  • Elicit requirements;
  • Identify and formalize the functionalities as well as the performance characteristics of the solution to be implemented;
  • Break down and categorize the requirements to make them easier for the technical team to understand;
  • Identify, document and model requirements;
  • Prepare, organize and lead sessions to structure and prioritize requirements;
  • Act as a mediator to assist in the resolution of conflicting requirements from different stakeholders;
  • Build a glossary/dictionary;
  • Analyze and specify requirements;
  • Analyze and manage risks related to requirements;
  • Ensure follow-up on delivered requirements;
  • Develop the test plan and manage activities related to functional testing and acceptance testing;
  • Manage changes to requirements;
  • Validate requirements;

Any analysis activity required for project delivery.

For all project phases, the expert analyst must

  • Ensure the sharing of knowledge related to your area of expertise in order to accelerate projects;
  • Ensure the traceability of requirements from the business case to the implementation of the solution;
  • Contribute to the resolution of complex problems that harm the productivity and performance of business units;
  • Ensure the alignment of technological solutions with the needs, practices, processes, orientations of the business units and the strategic plan;

Advise and propose solutions for improvement, optimization, prevention or transformation.

Analyze and specify requirements

  • Analyze the current state, the target state and identify gaps;
  • Establish the scope of the change;
  • Build the models (processes, data, workflow, use cases, etc.);
  • Structure, categorize and prioritize requirements;
  • Identify the capabilities and requirements to support the transition to the new solution;

Ensure the traceability of requirements from the business case file to the implementation of the solution.

Formalize, validate and manage requirements

  • Prepare and lead quality reviews of requirements and solutions;
  • Establish test plans and scenarios (tests);
  • Assist the technical/development/production team;
  • Manage activities related to acceptance testing;
  • Manage changes to requirements.
  • Delivery and operation of the solution
  • Manage acceptance of the solution;
  • Analyze requests to the user support center;
  • Analyze the root causes of problems.

Elicit requirements

  • Prepare, organize and lead information collection sessions (interviews, focus groups, brainstorming, etc.) with the various project stakeholders.
  • More than five (5) years of demonstrated experience putting into practice the operational knowledge and skills described at the level of behavioral skills, knowledge and operational skills.
  • HE or SHE must have worked on large-scale projects with a minimum value of ten million Canadian dollars and a team of more than 20 people/year.
  • Demonstrate having developed expertise in the specialized areas set out as an expert in business and functional analyst on at least 3 projects of a minimum value of ten million for a minimum of 5 years.
  • AND Have completed at least ninety (90) university credits (or the equivalent) in a field relevant to the responsibilities of the mandate (administration, engineering, technologies, etc.);

WORKPLACE

The place of work will be determined according to the mandate, it can be teleworking or at the client's site.
