Role Summary

Act as a Rainforest Lead Auditor, conducting certification audits in agricultural and supply chain operations.

Plan, lead and execute audits, including conducting opening and closing meetings.

Evaluate social, environmental and legal requirements through interviews, field observation and document analysis.

Record, analyze and communicate findings and non-conformities in a clear, objective and technical way.

Prepare audit reports with verifiable evidence, in accordance with the Certification Body's deadlines and procedures.

Requirements

Mandatory requirements

Higher education in industrial, manufacturing, chemical engineering or areas of engineering systems, Food Sciences or Food Technology; or minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience in areas such as agriculture, natural resources, environmental sciences, social sciences, rural development or similar.

  • Possess post-secondary training in areas such as agriculture, natural resources, environmental sciences, social sciences, rural development or similar; or minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience in the areas mentioned.
  • Proven knowledge of applicable national and local laws and regulations.
  • Experience as an auditor in social standards, such as UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, GRASP, SA8000 and SMETA.
  • Valid certification as a Social Compliance Auditor by APSCA, issued in the last 4 years.
  • Proven knowledge of the production of applicable commodities or experience as an auditor in standards such as GLOBALG.A.P., national standards (relevant scales), Organic, UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, GRASP, ISO 14001, SA8000 and SMETA.
  • Experience in auditing organic and/or environmental standards, acting as lead auditor for the last 3 years, in accordance with acceptable standards.
  • Knowledge of applicable commodity processing systems or experience auditing processing systems and/or supply chain standards in GAP, organic agriculture and/or environmental standards, within the last 4 years.
  • Lead Auditor Course – ISO 19011.
  • Official Rainforest Alliance training.
  • Advanced training for social audits (SA8000:2014, SMETA, ETI).
  • Training in traceability and commodity processing systems.

Differential

Be an auditor approved / authorized by the Rainforest Alliance to conduct audits in the scheme.
