Role Summary
Carry out audits (schedule, scope, sampling, logistics) and carry out visits to rural properties and processing/storage facilities.
Verify CAFE Practices requirements (social/labor, environmental, traceability and records management), through interviews, observation and document analysis.
Conduct opening/closing meetings and communicate findings, non-conformities and opportunities for improvement clearly and objectively.
Prepare reports with verifiable evidence, within VO deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements
Mandatory requirements
- Complete higher education or technical education with proven experience in areas such as: Agronomy, Environmental/Forestry Engineering, Environmental Management, Biological Sciences, Occupational Safety, Administration/Processes, or related.
- Experience in audits/inspections/verifications or technical work with coffee farming, cooperatives, processing, technical assistance, socio-environmental compliance and/or traceability.
- Practical knowledge of field routine (property visits, interviews, evidence assessment) and document analysis.
- Solid understanding of applicable labor and OSH legislation and basic environmental requirements (waste management, water/effluents, use/storage of agrochemicals).
Differentiators (desirable)
- Previous experience with CAFE Practices (auditor, auditor in training, or working with Starbucks suppliers).
- Experience with other standards/certifications: Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, Organic, ISO 14001/45001, SMETA/ETI, etc.
- Auditing courses (e.g.: Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor, social audit, chain of custody).
- Familiarity with dry/wet processing, storage, classification and batch traceability.
- Live (or be able to travel easily) to the region of the vacancy: Monte Carmelo.
