Job Description Summary
Power Conversion drives the electrical transformation of the global energy infrastructure. We develop and deliver advanced motor, drive and control technologies that improve the efficiency and decarbonization of energy-intensive processes and systems. We help accelerate the energy transition in the marine, energy and industrial sectors. Energy conversion is at the heart of electrifying tomorrow's energy.
For the inventory and analysis of software libraries (PLC libraries), we are looking for a working student (m/f/d) for our location in Berlin to provide support in the area of engineering.
Project-specific sequence controls (PLC programs) are created and put into operation for industrial plants and critical infrastructure systems. These PLC programs process the sensors installed in the system, react to user input and set the system's actuators in motion. The PLC programs are usually assembled using library elements and expanded to include project-specific software modules.
Responsibilities
- Inventory and analysis of the PLC libraries used
- Identification of redundancies and preferred variants within these libraries
- Development of suggestions for expanding the PLC library to include additional modules
Requirements
- Studying electrical/drive engineering, ideally with a focus on software/automation
- Interest in the development and engineering of power converters and high-performance converter systems
- Previous knowledge in some of the areas of responsibility described
- Supporting work in project teams through an analytical and pragmatic approach
- Quick comprehension, reliability, and an independent, structured way of working
- Very good linguistic knowledge of German and English
The contract duration can be agreed individually, but should be around 20 hours per week over a period of at least 6 - 12 months.
