At Tenpo we are leaders, we are brave in the face of challenges and, above all, we are human: we truly connect with the needs of people and our country.

The future has arrived and has a banking license. Let's go with everything. Strongly. With vision.

With Neobanco N. # Tenpo ConNdeNeobanco 💚

About the Position

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will be the maximum technical reference in the Data Science and AI area at Tenpo. You will have transversal influence over all the neobank's teams and projects.

You will not be tied to a fixed squad: your focus will be on solving the company's most complex architecture, modeling and MLOps challenges, defining the organization's methodological standards and connecting cutting-edge knowledge (research/academia) with real production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead highly complex ML projects: Actively design, implement and bring to production the company's most critical and ambiguous models (state-of-the-art credit decision systems, scale customization models and advanced fraud prevention).
  • Define technical standards and frameworks: Design methodological guides, experimentation frameworks, code quality criteria and MLOps architectures that will be applied transversally to all Data Science teams.
  • Ensure organizational technical excellence: Perform high-impact code reviews, methodological model audits, and technical mentoring to Senior Data Scientists and Leads to raise the collective level of the area.
  • Map out the long-term technical vision: Anticipate technical debt, evaluate and propose the adoption of new tools, cloud infrastructure and ML/AI methodologies with a systems approach over 2-3 years.
  • Connect with academia and the state of the art: Monitor papers, trends and emerging technologies (GenAI, Causal Inference), articulating alliances and research projects with universities to convert frontier knowledge into competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • What do you need to apply?
  • Demonstrable experience in Data Science, ML Engineering or applied AI roles, with at least 3 years acting as a transversal technical reference (Staff, Principal or Lead Technical) in data organizations of relevant scale.
  • Production Track Record: Proven track record solving and implementing highly complex ML problems on a massive scale.
  • ML Stack Core: Expert proficiency in Python for Machine Learning (scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch or TensorFlow) and advanced SQL / BigQuery for large volumes of data.
  • MLOps End-to-End: Experience designing ML architectures in production using tools such as Vertex AI, MLflow, SageMaker or equivalent.
  • Quantitative Base: Expert level in advanced statistics, causal inference, experimental design and probability theory.
  • Standardization Capacity: Demonstrated ability to design technical frameworks, architectures and RFCs adopted by multiple teams.
  • Training and Language: Graduate in Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or Computer Science. Advanced English (reading/technical writing of papers and documentation).

Desirable (Plus)

  • Generative AI: Experience with cutting-edge LLMs (fine-tuning, RAG, agentic AI).
  • Risk & Finance: In-depth knowledge of credit models (scorecards, PD, LGD) or fraud prevention in FinTech or regulated banking.
  • Governance & Ethics: Management of explainability and fairness in AI (SHAP, LIME, AI Act).
  • Academia & Community: Postgraduate (Master's/Ph.D.), technical publications, open-source contributions or active network of contacts in the AI academic community.
  • Benefits of Working at Tenpo
  • 📚 Annual budget to self-manage training.
  • 👩💻 Teleworking.
  • 🎂 Free birthday.
  • 🧁 Half day birthday of children/parents.
  • 💃 Short Fridays (every Friday we finish at 2 p.m.).
  • 🌍 Work from anywhere (Work from wherever you want! Just remember to have a good internet connection).
  • ✨ Among many others!!!
  • At Tenpo we value diversity and promote an inclusive and safe environment for all people, regardless of disability, culture, religion, ethnicity, gender or LGBTQ+ identity.
  • Join us and be part of the change! 🚀
