Role Summary

Together with the team, you control the central solutions in the area of providing operationally used data for, for example: customer portals, marketing and sales based on clear goals and KPIs in order to achieve maximum added value for the customer and the company.

As an experienced and competent Java developer, you will implement solution spaces and Java-based microservices using our cloud-native stack.

You develop applications using Spring Boot, Java, Postgres, DB2 and Kafka to provide various master and transactional data for the company and make them available in the cloud (Azure) using CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).

You will also develop technical concepts, show implementation alternatives and prepare decisions.

You ensure that the solutions are continuously improved until the desired goals are achieved.

Advising departments on the conception of requirements and providing support in testing are also part of the scope of work.

In the spirit of our DevSecOps organization based on the principle “You build it, you own it, you run it!” You accompany the development throughout the entire life cycle, participate in resolving incidents and competently optimize the tools used. You organize the work progress with JIRA and document the results in Confluence.

Requirements

Successful studies in natural sciences, computer science, business administration or a comparable qualification.

  • Profound experience as a backend developer with the following technologies and frameworks:
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • Kafka
  • SQL (DB2/Postgres)
  • Knowledge of the cloud (Azure) and experience in Infrastructure as Code with OpenTofu/Terraform and GitLab are an advantage.
  • You have experience in test automation, CI/CD and IT security and use tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Conceptboard, ideally with an understanding of business in the insurance environment.
  • Confident communication combined with strong analytical skills, abstraction skills and a convincing appearance.
  • You are dynamic and future-oriented, take innovative approaches, have an open and agile mindset and support others in growing beyond themselves.
  • Fluent spoken and written knowledge of German (at least level B2-C1).
