Role Summary
Market & product strategy
Analysis of global market trends, competitors, technologies and standards.
Identification of market opportunities (e.g. OEM trends, new applications, industry developments) and derivation of a product strategy with business cases in close coordination with the Product Innovations Manager and the Global Head of Business (GHOB).
Price positioning and margin monitoring together with sales and controlling.
Product portfolio management
Life cycle management (phasing out/starting up).
Assessment of product changes and variants (modify-to-order, customer-specific solutions).
Clarification of standard and certification requirements (e.g. UL, CSA, IEC), in close coordination with customers and engineering.
Definition of product requirements and specifications for engineering/development.
Customer proximity & application support
Personal contact for key account OEM customers worldwide.
Carrying out product training for sales and distributors.
Participation in customer visits, trade fairs and technical workshops.
Go-to-market & sales support
Development of market launch concepts for new products.
Creation of product documents (data sheets, presentations, competitive comparisons).
Supporting the international sales team in quotation projects.
Requirements
Technically
- Technical studies (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering) or comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience in the connector industry, electrical components or industrial connection technology.
- Experience dealing with OEMs, distributors and international markets.
- Knowledge of international standards (UL, IEC, RoHS, REACH…) is an advantage.
- Ideally experience in product certifications or application engineering.
Personal
- High technical affinity, analytical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills – internally and externally.
- Hands-on mentality in medium-sized structures.
- Intercultural competence and occasional willingness to travel internationally.
