Java Developer

Role Summary

We are the Java developers of Sopra Steria and we offer large organizations and semi-governmental organizations tailor-made, end-to-end software solutions. We help customers make the right choices and achieve great results. We have been achieving success after success in this for years!

We believe in the impact of teams on our customers. The vast majority of our services involve a multidisciplinary team of developers who build a bond and tackle the customer's challenges together with training and support from Sopra Steria.

We work a lot with the Dutch government, the transport sector, banks and the Dutch police. Our assignments vary from large web applications to short pilot projects.

As a technological partner, Sopra Steria works on various solutions. This means that you and your team work on various assignments. An assignment can include the following:

• An outdated Java application with Java version 8 must be updated to the latest LTS version;
• The entire DTAP runs on one or more RHEL servers in the basement of the customer's main building and must be brought to Azure (AKS);
• There are still doubts about the use of OpenShift;
• The CI/CD is a Jenkins pipeline and it must be converted to Azure pipelines;
• A new framework is selected such as Spring or Quarkus;

Making the existing unit and integration tests meaningful.

Requirements

• Have at least 3 years of work experience as a Java Software Developer;
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring or Quarkus;
• Experience with test methods (unit, integration, acceptance tests) and can apply them;
• Have experience working in an agile scrum environment;
• Have experience working according to DevOps principles;
• Have a positive mindset and solution-oriented attitude;
• Have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant equivalent education
• In possession of a Dutch passport and living in the Netherlands;
• You speak at least Dutch at B-2 level or it is your mother tongue.
