Role Summary
Our Technical Center in Travagliato (BS), an integral part of a larger international research and development team, is looking for a Firmware Engineer for the development of advanced embedded systems for robotics, automation, textile machinery and IoT solutions.
Responsibilities
The resource will be included in the local team, reporting directly to the Technical Center Manager, and will be directly involved in advanced technical projects of international scope, aimed at the development and innovation of a large portfolio of products, with particular focus on:
C/C++ firmware development for microcontrollers (STM32, TI C2000) according to a structured Quality Coding Assessment approach (rules, software development process, built-in quality)
- Working with FreeRTOS and Embedded Linux (Yocto)
- Development of drivers and communication modules (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, Ethernet)
- Industrial and IoT protocol integration (MQTT, BLE, Wi‑Fi, ZigBee, Modbus, CANopen)
- Functional/performance testing, HW/SW debugging (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
- Secure coding application & cybersecurity compliance support
- Collaboration with HW and Product Engineering teams
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Automation
- Excellent knowledge of C/C++ and MCU/SoC
- Experience with FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux, modular architectures
- Knowledge of industrial and wireless protocols
- HW/SW debugging skills
- Python for scripting/testing
- Basic knowledge of embedded cybersecurity
- English (spoken and written) required for technical documentation and international collaboration.
- The profile is completed by: Problem solving, team work, analytical skills and clear and effective technical communication
