Role Summary

Getting sick can happen to anyone. The question is not whether it happens, but how you deal with it as an employer. How do you ensure that someone can return to work in good health as quickly as possible? And better still: how do you prevent someone from dropping out and how do you ensure that employees remain fit, healthy and sustainably employable? Issues in which you, as a Case Manager / Absenteeism Specialist, make a daily difference for our employees and managers and are therefore of great added value to the SWARCO organization.

As an Absenteeism & Employability Advisor, you are the specialist in the field of absenteeism within SWARCO. You are the sparring partner for managers on complex absenteeism issues and ensure that employees receive the right guidance on the road to recovery and sustainable employability.

You advise on the right approach, support discussions and think about appropriate interventions. You do not take over the work, but you ensure that the right person takes action at the right time. In this way you help managers to fulfill their roles properly and you keep responsibility where it belongs.

You independently manage multiple absenteeism files at the same time. You monitor progress, keep an overview of the various parties involved and ensure that files comply with the Gatekeeper Improvement Act. You know which interventions are possible, when they should be used and ensure that opportunities to promote recovery and return to work are optimally utilized. Whether you interact with an employee, manager, HR Business Partner or our occupational health and safety service, you ensure that everyone knows what needs to be done and when.

You also take control of our occupational health and safety service. You monitor the quality of service, keep an eye on the agreements made and ensure that the support meets what SWARCO needs. You identify bottlenecks, discuss them and make adjustments where necessary. This way you ensure that we make optimal use of the knowledge, options and services available within the contract.

In addition, you look beyond the individual file. You analyze absenteeism figures, recognize patterns and identify where extra attention is needed. Together with HR and managers, you work on improvements in policies, processes and preventive initiatives. For example, you organize PAGOs, think about sustainable employability and help managers to better fulfill their role in the event of absenteeism. Everything with the aim of: a healthy working environment and a safe working environment in which employees can and remain sustainably employable.
