- Location:
- Milan, Italy

Role Summary
Headquarters: Milan
Reports to: Director of SCM and Finance
Contract: CCNL Trade, full time, permanent
We are a rapidly growing scale-up in the renewable energy sector, with operations in Italy, Albania and Tunisia. Our finance function is young, streamlined and still under construction: closing, controls and intercompany flows have been built largely from scratch over the last two years. Today we are looking for an operational person who will consolidate, professionalize and scale up what has been put on the ground.
It's not a role for someone who wants to manage from afar. The person will have direct responsibility for day-to-day accounting, supervise external consultants (accountant, payroll firm, auditor), maintain alignment with the German HQ and be the operational finance point of reference for three entities in three countries.
Responsibility
- Complete accounting cycle for the Italian legal entity and oversight of the accounting of Albania and Tunisia: passive cycle, active cycle, general accounting, treasury, intercompany, accruals and deferrals, monthly and annual closures.
- End-to-end Italian tax compliance: VAT settlement, F24, Intrastat — in close coordination with the external accountant.
- Statutory financial statements and audit support.
- Intercompany operations and transfer pricing: invoicing flows, reconciliations, Master File / Local File documentation, intercompany contracts.
- Group Reporting: monthly package to the German Group Controlling, IFRS/HGB adjustments, alignment of accounting records.
- Treasury and cash management: payments, bank reconciliations, short-term cash forecasts at a multi-entity level.
- External consultants: management, supervision and review of the work of accountants, payroll offices, statutory auditors and local bookkeepers in AL/TN.
- Processes and tools: identify closing weak points, push automation, work with developer/IT teams on finance systems.
- Team: lead and grow a small finance team (currently 1–2 people), mentor junior profiles, contribute to upcoming hires.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of experience in the accounting field in Italy, ideally with a mix between a firm (accountant) and a structured company — experience in scale-ups or international groups is a significant plus.
- Solid command of Italian accounting principles (OIC) and Italian tax obligations (VAT, F24, Intrastat). Working knowledge of IFRS for group reporting purposes.
- Direct experience in end-to-end management of monthly closing, including accruals, deferrals, intercompany, trial balance review and reporting deliverables.
- Familiarity with a multi-entity and multi-currency context and in managing relationships with external consultants.
- Confident use of a structured ERP preferred and advanced command of Excel.
- Full professional level English - daily written and spoken use with HQ and non-Italian colleagues.
- "Owner" mentality: the person is comfortable being the first point of contact for the auditor, accountant and controller for the three entities to which he/she reports.
Plus
- Experience with transfer pricing documentation (Master/Local File, benchmarks, intercompany contracts).
- Albanian and/or French — appreciated, given the operations in Tirana and Tunis.
- Experience in the renewable energy, utilities, EPC or asset-intensive business sectors.
- Experience supporting or managing a statutory audit in Italy.
- Track record of process improvement or automation projects in the finance sector.
Benefits
- A role with real visibility: finance is a business partner, the impact is concrete and decisions are not lost in intermediate levels.
- Direct exposure to an international context (Italy, Albania, Tunisia) and to a German HQ.
- Space to grow the role: today individual contributor with oversight, tomorrow team lead tailored to the function.
- RAL from €32,000 up to €42,000 commensurate with previous experience, calibrated on seniority and fit, CCNL Trade package.
- A culture that rewards pragmatism, ownership and clean budgets — not internal politics.
Enpal values diversity and promotes an inclusive environment. We evaluate candidates on skills and potential, not background.
