Telecommunications Monitoring and Support Technician

Role Summary

Operate the Chacao Project video surveillance system in person, reviewing cameras and analytics/AI alerts, and providing first-line technical support on connectivity and associated network equipment.

Main roles and responsibilities

Monitor IP cameras and review analytics/AI alerts associated with risk conditions or behaviors, PPE, restricted areas or other cases defined by Transelec, visually validating the detected events.

Record news and events in the log and alert/escalate according to the protocol and contact matrix defined by Transelec.

Verify availability of cameras, links and communications; perform basic connectivity diagnosis, switch ports, PoE and physical connections.

Review the basic status of UPS and equipment power; execute reboots or recovery actions only when an authorized procedure exists.

Carry out shift delivery, leaving a record of incidents, pending failures and actions carried out.

Escalate any failure that exceeds first-level support to the corresponding specialist. Do not modify critical configurations without authorization from Transelec.

Requirements

• Intermediate or Higher Level Technician in Telecommunications, Connectivity and Networks, Electronics, Electricity with knowledge in telecommunications, or equivalent technical specialty.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, IP addressing, switches/LAN, VLAN basics and PoE/PoE+.
• Knowledge of IP/CCTV cameras and basic diagnosis of connectivity and power supply of telecommunications equipment.
• Management of computers and monitoring platforms. Knowledge of fiber optics, PTZ cameras, VMS, firewalls, UPS and video analytics/AI will be an advantage.
