Responsibilities

• Extraction: RNA/DNA isolation from different types of materials. Applying QC measures via automated or manual processes.
• Preparation of libraries: Preparation of DNA and RNA libraries, quality control and NGS sequencing.
• Analyzes: Carrying out molecular genetic analyzes using various technologies (e.g. PCR, NGS) and monitoring the automated laboratory processes and operating the Hamilton robots.
• Documentation: Maintain and update assigned SOPs and document processes in LIMs.
• Planning: Support the head of the NGS laboratory in planning and scheduling laboratory activities, experiments and projects.
• Team Support: Guiding and supporting team members in their daily and routine tasks.
• Compliance: Laboratory organization according to international quality standards (ISO and GCP).

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology or molecular biology or training as a technical assistant
• Experience in NGS, including data generation and analysis
• Familiarity with NGS platforms and technologies (e.g. Illumina, or Oxford Nanopore)
• Thorough understanding of laboratory protocols and procedures
• Ability to use laboratory equipment and software to analyze data
• Knowledge of quality control measures and compliance standards
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• High attention to details
• Ability to provide guidance and support to junior team members
