Job description

Location:
Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Work arrangement:
On-site

Role Summary

Product development & innovation: In an interdisciplinary team, you will drive the development of the Lexware business account within a cloud-based web application. You rely on iterative steps and always keep the customer benefit in mind

Tech stack & architecture: You work in a modern microservice architecture and ensure smooth communication between services. You decide in the team about the use of new tools and approaches

Agentic AI & Future Work: We see AI not just as a tool, but since the breakthrough of Agentic AI as a motor for fundamental organizational restructuring. You will actively shape this change and help us to deeply integrate AI agents and automated workflows into our working world and product structures

End-to-end responsibility: You accompany features from the initial idea to productive operation in the cloud. You always have the scalability and stability of our banking platform in mind

Culture of design: We do not close ourselves off to technological change, but rather openly experiment with new forms of collaboration. You live the continuous dialogue and constantly develop our way of working through “Inspect & Adapt”.

Requirements

Full-stack expertise: You have several years of experience in building modern web applications. In the backend you feel at home with Spring Boot (Java), ideally you have experience with React, TypeScript and Material UI in the frontend

  • Data & Cloud: You have in-depth know-how in relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and are confident in the AWS world (e.g. EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
  • Software Engineering Excellence: Clean code and agile methods are not a theoretical concept for you, but rather a guided standard for high-quality software
  • Understanding of architecture: You are experienced in dealing with microservices and the associated technical challenges
  • Languages: Our team language is German, so very good knowledge of German (C2) is a must
  • We rely on team recruiting - our team conducts the interviews themselves. We look forward to getting to know you.
  • Emily likes to put on our customers’ glasses. She finds her balance on long walks with her dog
  • Maik takes care of finding the right meme or GIF for every mood and emotional state. As a full stack developer, he not only tirelessly pursues sprint goals but also his Duolingo streak
  • Yannik loves exploring new countries, new cuisines and new code bases. The main thing is that there is something to discover
  • As a Scrum Master, Lydia takes care of cross-team collaboration and our continuous improvement. The best way to clear her head is by gravel riding, preferably on long tours along the region's gravel paths

Lexware: Software solutions for efficient business processes.

Lexware develops commercial software solutions for the self-employed and small companies, making it the market leader in Germany. With our business solutions, networks and corporate knowledge for accounting, wages and salaries, taxes and finances, we keep our customers’ backs free. This way you can focus on your business.

We value diversity and are convinced that employees with diverse backgrounds bring different perspectives and strengths to us. We therefore welcome all applications – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion/belief, disability, age, sexual orientation and identity. As a signatory of the Diversity Charter, we are committed to diversity, tolerance, fairness and appreciation.

About the Company

We don't build ordinary online banking. We are developing a banking platform that seamlessly integrates with Lexware and combines features such as smart split for sub-accounts, lending, automated payment reconciliation and intelligent financial analysis into a complete ecosystem. Not just an account, but a tool that thinks for you.

Technically, we are faced with the challenge of scaling our services so that they perform with increasing amounts of financial data - while at the same time delivering the reliability that one expects from a banking platform. We are in build-and-learn mode: we iterate quickly, make architectural decisions as a team and rely on experiments instead of assumptions.

We are looking for experienced developers who are interested in helping to shape a young product technically - not just writing code, but also helping to decide how we build it.

Of course, you can work flexibly from home. Since we also value personal encounters on site, we find the common balance together in our office in Freiburg im Breisgau.
