Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the general accounting of a portfolio of Enpal companies and, together with the Lead GL Accounting team, ensure correct and timely financial information.
• You independently carry out monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB), including accruals, provisions, rebookings and other closing entries.
• You are responsible for intercompany accounting and invoicing, carry out balance sheet reconciliations and proactively clarify open items and deviations.
• You analyze P&L and balance sheet accounts, identify unusual developments and ensure that numbers accurately reflect underlying business activities.
• You support HGB annual financial statements, group reporting and external audits and provide relevant financial information and documents.
• You work closely with Group Accounting, Technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury as well as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to efficiently resolve accounting issues.
• You support the team lead in the further development and standardization of accounting processes and actively contribute to the automation and scaling of GL accounting.
• As an experienced team member, you will contribute your accounting expertise, provide support with more complex issues and contribute to uniform working methods and high quality in the team.

Requirements

• You have completed a degree in accounting, finance, business administration or relevant commercial training or a comparable qualification.
• You have several years of professional experience in general or financial accounting, ideally in a complex or international corporate environment.
• You have in-depth, practical knowledge of HGB as well as experience with monthly and annual financial statements.
• You have experience in intercompany accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions and other central GL processes.
• You have experience with ERP systems; Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable systems is an advantage. You also have very good Excel skills.
• You communicate confidently in German; Good knowledge of English is an advantage.
