Role Summary

As part of the PreMaster program, you will be directly involved in the development of new production processes in the semiconductor industry. The position forms the interface between theoretical conception and physical implementation: You support the optimization of existing systems through CAD modeling and simulations and accompany the subsequent implementation through to prototyping. The aim is to give you a comprehensive insight into semiconductor production, especially the area of Si epitaxy.

Your area of responsibility

Hardware engineering: You design and simulate novel hardware adaptations for epitaxy systems and create precise CAD models of current solutions.

Simulation & Analysis: Based on your CAD models, you carry out simple gas flow simulations in order to validate optimization potential using software.

Prototyping & Testing: You support the production of prototypes and hardware modifications and accompany the subsequent testing directly on the tool.

Process development: You will be actively involved in carrying out series of tests and developing new processes under clean room conditions.

Requirements

  • Education: Above-average completed university degree (Bachelor) in engineering (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics) or a comparable course of study and the specific intention to pursue a Master's degree afterwards
  • Experience and know-how: initial practical experience with SolidWorks or comparable CAD software as well as basic knowledge of semiconductor electronics and mechanics, knowledge of process technology or fluid technology are an advantage
  • Personality and way of working: committed, motivated, independent and structured
  • Everyday work: 50% of the activity will take place in the clean room
  • Enthusiasm: Enthusiasm for optimizing and developing new technologies
  • Languages: very good knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written
