MLT I Lubricator Technician

MLT I Lubricator Technician at SGS in Cotabambas, Apurimac, Peru.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the lubrication of the equipment in the concentrator plant based on the weekly scheduled routes with daily compliance.
• Perform and submit detailed daily reports on lubrication activities and equipment conditions.
• Consolidate lubrication data and maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Propose improvements regarding lubricant types, lubrication frequencies and lubricant quantities based on asset conditions.
• Immediately report to supervision upon identifying adverse and critical conditions of any equipment.
• Perform periodic inspections of machinery and equipment to determine lubrication needs.
• Select and apply appropriate lubricants, oils and greases to machinery components.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and handling of lubricants.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate lubrication activities during scheduled outages or repairs.
• Engage in ongoing training to stay up-to-date on lubrication technologies and best practices.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while performing your duties.
• Resolve lubrication-related problems and recommend corrective actions to avoid equipment failures.

Requirements

• Professional mechanical technician certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in concentrator plant lubrication work.
• MLT I (Machine Lubrication Technician Level I) certification is required.
• Extensive mechanical knowledge of concentrator plant equipment.
• Solid understanding of lubrication principles, techniques and best practices.
• Familiarity with various types of lubricants, their properties and applications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and lubrication diagrams.
• Proficiency in the use of lubrication tools and equipment.
• Great attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to solve lubrication-related problems.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold).
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate mobile equipment as required.
• Commitment to safety protocols and willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
