Role Summary
The manufacturing engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating the organization's objectives, skills to analyze and solve problems, develop and execute their own objectives, and have a short and long-term impact on the Organization's objectives. He will be mainly responsible for designing and developing machining strategies, processes, procedures, sequence and operation flows for the manufacturing of each and every one of the components that make up a mechanical seal, ensuring the dimensional precision required by customers, not only thanks to the correct selection of machinery and equipment, also ensuring the correct use of cutting tools for total quality and customer satisfaction.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Enunciative, non-limiting)
Determine action plans to correct discrepancies and processes and components
Analyze the characteristics of the product.
Lead continuous improvement projects in areas such as Safety, Quality and Productivity
Design, develop, document, communicate and train personnel in machining processes, operating standards and cost benefit analysis for both the manufacture of New Products (NPI) and current products.
Design and/or select the devices and tooling necessary for the manufacture of all components developed according to the needs of the processes.
Provide technical support to internal and external clients.
Participate in the manufacturing feasibility process of new products, ensuring the availability and development of the required tools and processes.
Improve current designs, by sending VAVE proposals, giving suggestions for modifications to designs that improve the efficiency of machining processes, as well as reducing the manufacturing cost of the part.
Implement new projects and processes CAPEX, APQP, PDCA…
Evaluate and monitor standard times in responsibility cells, as well as make appropriate changes to achieve the organization's objectives.
Manage different projects at the same time, developing delivery times, managing the necessary resources and controlling the assigned Budget.
Evaluate and implement cutting tools.
Develop improvements to CNC programs.
Release processes and quality assurance required by the client.
Control and manage the expense of tools and consumables.
Participate in Supplier Development processes
Prepare and deliver assigned reports on time (engineering changes, new models) to production and other departments
Actively collaborate in compliance with health and safety administration (management) systems (OHAS18001) and environmental administration (management) systems (ISO14001) and quality administration (management) systems (ISO 9001).
Comply with company rules, regulations and code of ethics
Requirements
- Education / Courses: Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronics, Electronics or similar (graduate)
- Experience: 2 years (minimum) of experience in the metal mechanics industry as a manufacturing and/or CNC process engineer
Knowledge/Skills
- Good handling of Office parcels
- Statistical process controls
- Reading and interpretation of plans
- Measuring instruments and cutting tools
- Management of CAD CAM software
- Safety and industrial hygiene
- Technical drawing and reading of plans
- Intermediate-advanced English
