Role Summary
AFRY has ambitious growth plans in the Greenland region, and we are now looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical & Piping Engineer for our office at Herøya in Porsgrunn.
In the role of Lead Mechanical & Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for the entire project within piping and mechanical subjects, both in offers, studies and implementation of projects. You must be able to handle 3D modeling within the construction of steel and pipe design, in both large and small projects, both within Greenfield and Brownfield facilities.

Your closest colleagues consist of around 55 skilled engineers in the Process & Plant Design department, spread over several locations. Together, we form a strong team with an impressive overall track record, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with skilled professionals across the offices. We are proud of the broad experience in the department, and always do our best to support each other in assignments and professional development. Examples of tasks can be to modernize and streamline a production process or a facility, expand capacity or build a completely new production line. The customers can be found in almost all industrial sectors with a particularly strong position in the production of chemicals, smelters, paper and pulp, biorefineries, CCS/CCU and hydrogen.
Requirements
We are looking for you who have
- Higher education at Bachelor/Master of Science level in machine/mechanics
- Several years of experience in designing equipment and piping systems
- Several years of experience from the process industry with a main focus on land-based industry
- Several years of experience with the Autodesk platform such as autocad, plan 3D and inventor
- You are good at building relationships both with customers, colleagues and partners, and you enjoy developing networks, internally as well as externally. You take responsibility and work independently, but also like to work with others to achieve common goals. Together we find the best solutions.
- For this role, a class B driver's license and the ability to dispose of your own car for business trips and customer visits are required.
