Large project manager (f/m/d) onshore pipeline and route construction (gas / hydrogen / electricity)

Role Summary

Would you like to actively shape the energy infrastructure of the future and take responsibility for complex large-scale projects? At Drees & Sommer, you will manage sophisticated energy corridors and bring your experience into implementation - from planning through the construction phase to successful commissioning.

• Management of large-scale projects in the area of onshore pipeline and route construction (gas, hydrogen, electricity)
• Corporate responsibility for your projects (scope of services, resources, budget and results)
• Control of the implementation planning and the awarding processes for open and closed construction procedures

Professional management of interdisciplinary project teams (up to 60 internal and 1,000 external project participants including external planners, engineering offices and contractors)

• Perception of the building owner function
• Ensuring project success metrics (costs, deadlines, quality, occupational safety) with a clear focus on implementation
• Active presence in the execution and control of construction processes on the construction site

Use of modern technologies on the digital construction site, including use of digital platforms, drones and AI-supported analyzes for progress control and quality assurance

Advising customers on strategic, organizational and technical issues in project management

Building and maintaining sustainable customer relationships and participating in the acquisition of new projects

Requirements

• Completed studies in civil engineering, geosciences, surveying, process engineering, environmental sciences, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable, alternatively a comparable qualification with adequate professional experience
• Many years of experience (at least 10 years) in the planning, control or implementation of line-bound infrastructure projects, ideally in pipeline or power line construction
• Proven experience in managing large projects and leading large project teams
• In-depth knowledge of open and closed construction methods as well as relevant regulations
• Experience in dealing with different contract models (e.g. standard price, partnership models)
• Strong implementation skills, willingness to make decisions and entrepreneurial thinking
• Confident appearance and high communication skills when dealing with customers, authorities and stakeholders
• Ability to work interdisciplinarily and work independently
• Assertiveness, goal orientation and sense of responsibility
• Affinity for digital tools and innovative technologies in the construction context
• Experience and interest in acquisition and market development
• Willingness to undertake project-related business trips
