IT Operations Specialist - R&D team [2 vacancies]

Role Summary

IT Operations Specialist is a role for people who want to develop in the area of Linux system administration, IT infrastructure and support for enterprise environments.

In this position, you are responsible for configuring and maintaining IT environments, diagnosing problems, analyzing logs and automating administrative tasks using Bash. You also work with virtualization, networks and storage technologies, and support remote system administration and collaboration with clients from around the world.

We are looking for 2 people who are independent, analytical and consistent in solving problems. We value responsibility, good work organization, communication skills and the desire for continuous development.

This is a good opportunity to gain experience in an enterprise environment and develop competences in administration, automation and IT infrastructure architecture.

Responsibilities

1. Preparation of source environments

• Configuration and preparation of basic source environments
• Participating in preparing environments for testing new research software
• Ensuring basic functionality of environments covering automatic/manual tests

1. Verification of the operation of environments

Verification of correct operation of the supplied source image for a given environment

Identifying basic irregularities in the configuration of environments

Basic cooperation with developers in analyzing technical problems in the area of basic test functionality

Updates/new versions of source images

1. Technical and development cooperation

• Participating in daily team tasks, meetings and reviews
• Performing tests as needed for the PS department
• Work under the supervision of experienced specialists and mentors

Requirements

• Good knowledge of systems based on the Linux kernel (RPM/DEB) in the field of administration, diagnostics and configuration from the CLI level
• Ability to write scripts in Bash (automation of administrative tasks)
• Knowledge of virtualization environments (KVM family preferred)
• Network understanding (LAN, routing, NAT, DNS, firewall basics)
• Knowledge of storage technologies (iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS)
• Ability to work with CLI and remote system administration
• Ability to analyze logs and solve problems (troubleshooting)
• English language enabling working with documentation and technical communication with clients from all over the world
