Role Summary

Are you interested in an internship where you can get involved in climate protection? Would you like to get a taste of fundraising for a non-profit organization and enjoy organizing and running events? Do you have 3 months? Super! Then get in touch with us! We are looking for an intern in the event organization department for our annual spring festival, especially from February to April.

Possible tasks

You support the fundraising team in all relevant aspects of event planning, implementation and follow-up.

You take over invitation management and take care of communication with the invited supporters.

You will take on research tasks on relevant topics, e.g. a suitable location or exciting speakers.

You prepare suitable texts for the acquisition of catering, speakers, etc. and take over communication.

You are creative and prepare graphics (invitations, programs, etc.) on Canva for upcoming events.

You will be on site on the day of the event and will take care of the areas you have prepared.

Do you have any other ideas on how we can make our events as exciting as possible for our supporters? Great, we look forward to your input!

If you would like to get a taste of other fundraising topics, you also have the opportunity to do so in our team.

You have a high interest in event management and all phases of organizing and executing events (digital and on-site).

You are confident and quick at creating texts.

You are communicative and like to approach people.

You have had some initial experience in dealing with donors or are keen to delve into the topic of fundraising.

You are a team player and work independently and in a structured manner. You recognize critical boundaries where you ask for support or feedback.

Climate protection is important to you and you really want to bring the topic closer to other people.

You want to show people the importance of getting involved by donating to nonprofit organizations.

Attention: The internship is not paid. We are working on being able to pay interns at least an expense allowance in the future. As soon as that is an option, we will adjust this text here.

Remote work is possible. Ideally, we are looking for a person for this position who lives in Berlin or can imagine coming to Berlin regularly, as it primarily involves supporting an event on site.

Have we made you curious? Then become a Zeronaut and work with us towards the goal of keeping the Paris climate promise and making Germany climate neutral with concrete solutions. We are a well-mixed team of young and experienced professionals who come from NGOs and start-ups as well as corporations. What we value is diversity and openness, professionalism, drive and efficiency and, above all, the drive to prevent the climate crisis from escalating further. Because what unites us all is the unconditional will to achieve our goal.

Please send us a CV and a cover letter that clearly shows your motivation.

GermanZero e.V. is a leading climate protection organization committed to a major goal: We will make Germany climate neutral by 2035. We operate at the interface of science, politics and civil society and rely on innovative strategies and dynamic collaboration to bring about sustainable change. We want to advance the implementation of an effective climate policy by offering constructive solutions.

To this end, we work in three areas of activity that together form the roadmap towards a climate-neutral Germany: a 1.5 degree legal package that contains all legal solutions at the federal level, policy discussions that bring these solutions into the political discourse, and the LocalZero network, which already supports 90 local teams in making climate neutral place by place. We are offering around 1,000 volunteers participation formats so that they can take effective action against the climate crisis. GermanZero was founded in 2019 as a non-profit organization, operates purely through donations and currently has 30 full-time employees and a volunteer board of directors.
