- Work arrangement:
- On-site
Head of IT (m/w/d) at Interlead GmbH in Berlin, Germany.
Role Summary
0-3 months
- You know the team, system landscape, roadmap and the most important stakeholders and have had a 1:1 with each team member
- You have created a written inventory: the biggest risks in stability and security, the biggest bottlenecks in the ability to deliver, the state of our database
- You completely took over the 1:1s, operational prioritization and daily escalations from the CTO
- Together with the CTO, it is recorded in writing which decisions are yours and which are his
4-6 months
- Departments always know what is being worked on
- Monitoring, alerting and an incident process including post-mortems are established; Critical security and GDPR gaps from the inventory have been closed
- A first reliable version of our key figure reporting on leads, appointments and orders is live - with clearly defined metrics and named owners
- The CTO is only involved in strategic issues and no longer in day-to-day business
Requirements
The #1 platform for new customers
- Every company constantly needs new customers - and we solve exactly this problem. With Interlead we are building the #1 platform for leads, appointments and orders, making customer acquisition easier, more transparent and easier to plan for our partners.
- We are therefore looking for a Head of IT (m/f/d) for our IT team as soon as possible, 100% from the home office (Germany) or in our Bremen office!
These are your tasks
- You lead our tech team (currently 8 people from development, data and infrastructure) disciplinarily and professionally - including 1:1s, target agreements, further development and recruiting new team members.
- You will take over the CTO's day-to-day operational business: prioritization, resource planning, escalations and all decisions that still remain with him today.
- You are responsible for the implementation of our roadmap across all four areas - product, data, software and infrastructure - and ensure that promised deadlines are met.
- You ensure predictable delivery capability: You establish clear processes for planning, development, testing and release and make progress visible to all areas in the company.
- You build a reliable database: You put our key figures for leads, appointments and orders in a form that sales, marketing and management can trust.
- You are responsible for the stability, security and scalability of our platform - from monitoring and incident management to backups and access rights to GDPR topics.
- You stay close to the technology: you evaluate architectural decisions, read code reviews and, if in doubt, you can look into the code yourself - even if you no longer spend the majority of your time there.
- You actively manage technical debt: you make it visible, evaluate it economically and negotiate with the departments when we will reduce it.
- You are the contact person for the departments for all technical topics and translate between business requirements and technical implementation.
- You manage external service providers and tools, including selection, contracts and budget responsibility for the IT area.
- Thanks to your expertise, you will achieve the following milestones with us
Benefits
7-12 months
- The ability to deliver is measurably better than when you started (e.g. shorter lead times, higher release frequency, fewer errors in production)
- A plan to reduce technical debt is underway and has been coordinated with the departments
- The team has been expanded and structured according to the growth planning; you hired yourself and distributed responsibility within the team
- The platform supports the planned growth without stability problems, and the database is the accepted truth in the company
- This is what you bring with you
At least 2 years of experience in leading tech teams (from approx.
- 3 people) – as Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Head of IT or in a comparable role
- A solid technical background as a developer (ideally 5+ years) - you have built what you are responsible for today
- Responsibility across multiple disciplines: Not only did you lead development, but you also worked with data and/or infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure), CI/CD and modern web and platform architectures
- A secure sense of prioritization: You can say no with good reason and stay the course even when several areas want something from you at the same time
- Experience in introducing processes that are actually implemented - without suffocating the team in bureaucracy
- A data-driven work style: You measure before you decide and make results understandable for others
Communication skills for non-technical people: You can explain to sales, marketing and management why something takes time - so that it is understood and accepted
- Personal responsibility and ability to implement: You don't wait for orders, but you recognize what needs to be done yourself
- Very good knowledge of German (at least C1) and good knowledge of English
- Experience in a fast-growing environment (start-up, scale-up or agency) is a clear plus
- Experience with lead generation, performance marketing or B2B SaaS is a bonus, but not a requirement
- What is important to us
- This position can be completed 100% in the home office. For team events and quarterly planning, we are happy to have around 1-2 days of presence per quarter at our headquarters in Bremen Überseestadt (we cover travel costs).
- You report directly to the CTO and are part of the extended management team.
- This is a full-time, permanent position.
- This role is intentionally broad: product, data, software and infrastructure come together in your company.
This is what we offer you
- A dynamic marketing and tech environment and the opportunity to build “The Lead Company” together.
- A huge market and numerous internal growth opportunities - we solve our partners' biggest problem: automating their acquisition of new customers.
- Full flexibility in the place of work (remotely, at the Bremen headquarters or, by arrangement, from abroad).
- Full flexibility in working hours – you organize your working hours individually with your team.
- 30 days vacation per year + the possibility to take unpaid vacation at any time.
- Subsidy for company pension schemes (the “Interlead pension”).
- Annual team events such as summer parties and Christmas parties.
- Agile working environment – modern tools such as Slack, Monday, Notion, Google Workspace and OKRs/Scrum support you in your daily work.
- Subsidy for the gym (via Urban Sports Club or E‑Gym Wellpass).
- Quick decisions – we are 100% bootstrapped, profitable and independent of investors.
- An open feedback culture and regular internal training.
- Transparent communication through monthly all-hands meetings, weekly newsletters and fixed team updates.
- Ergonomic workplaces, great coffee & espresso, drinks and barbecue evenings await you at the headquarters in Bremen's Überseestadt.
- For home office employees: monthly home office flat rate of €20.
- Bike leasing, lease your dream bike or e-bike at attractive conditions.
These are our values
- Fail Fast: We have a strong testing and error culture. We are pragmatic, courageous and comfortable with change.
- Results: We work flexibly but reliably. For us, freedom is in harmony with results orientation and personal responsibility.
- Trust: We deal openly with numbers, strengths and weaknesses and do what is right for the company (“ego back”).
- Role:
- Head of IT (m/w/d)
- Job Type:
- Professionally Experienced
