Role Summary

Whether containers or coal, pallets or entire wind turbines – wherever in the world materials and loads need to be moved, we are there with our crane systems and lifting equipment. With our products we play in the top league worldwide. This also includes the mobile harbor cranes that we develop and produce in our Düsseldorf-Benrath factory with around 800 colleagues. Top devices with the latest drive and control technology that effortlessly lift loads of up to 200 tons.

During your training as a construction mechanic specializing in welding technology/welding programmer, you will learn what holds our cranes together - and of course much more.

Training starts in August 2027.

This is what awaits you with us

Drawings: Reading and understanding construction drawings as well as assembly, circuit, functional and welding plans as a basis for production.

Metalworking: Application of a wide range of processes such as turning, milling, grinding, joining and forming with modern tools and machines.

Welding technology: learning and applying different welding processes, e.g. B. MAG and arc welding, as well as post-processing and inspection of the weld seams.

Automation: Familiarization with the operation and programming of welding robots as well as the setting and maintenance of the corresponding machines and tools.

Component handling: Professional use of lifting equipment and transport equipment for the safe movement of large-sized metal structures, e.g. B. for crane systems.

Duration of training

3.5 years in the dual system (vocational school and training in the company) - shortening possible if you get good grades

  • School education: You will (soon) have a secondary school diploma after grade 10.
  • Subject interest: You are interested in MINT subjects, especially mathematics and technology, and enjoy practical work with metal.
  • Skills: You have spatial imagination, are able to work at heights and have a good technical understanding.
  • Personality: You are open, motivated and willing to learn - you want to learn new things and work actively in a team.
