Role Summary

Technical and disciplinary leadership of the teams in the chemistry department with a focus on wet chemistry.

Organizing and ensuring the GMP-compliant implementation, evaluation and approval of chemical and physical tests on raw materials, auxiliary materials and finished products in accordance with pharmacopoeias and customer specifications.

Responsible for the implementation and evaluation of wet chemical test procedures, in particular titrations (potentiometric, volumetric and visual), identity tests, content determinations, limit tests, water determinations (Karl Fischer), pH value, conductivity, density and UV/VIS analyses.

Technical support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis and method optimization in the area of wet chemical analysis.

Ensuring compliance with GMP requirements, data integrity and regulatory requirements.

Responsibility for communication between the team, customer service and laboratory (appointment requests, method queries, customer meetings, etc.)

Planning and technical evaluation of method validations, method verifications and method transfers in accordance with ICH Q2(R2) and pharmacopoeial requirements.

Support with GMP-compliant qualification, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Review and release of analytical results as well as support with complex investigations and questions.

  • Participation in other tasks in the area of quality control, for example:
  • Creation and maintenance of SOPs
  • Implementation and documentation of training courses
  • Processing deviations and evaluating OOS results
  • Definition and tracking of CAPA measures

Ensuring the professional qualification, training and further development of employees.

Accompaniment of customer, authority and certification audits as well as implementation of necessary measures.

Control of resources, capacities and priorities within the teams to ensure timely processing.

Support with cross-departmental projects, digital transformations and new introductions in the area of quality control.

Promoting an open communication, quality and safety culture in the laboratory.

Requirements

Completed training as a chemical laboratory assistant (m/f/d), CTA or PTA with further training as a chemical technician (m/f/d) or industrial foreman in chemistry (m/f/d). Alternatively, a completed degree in chemistry, pharmacy or a comparable scientific field. In any case, several years of professional experience in pharmaceutical quality control.
