Role Summary
The warehouse manager plays a fundamental role in our operations at the fastener plant; oversees the efficient receipt, storage and shipping of a variety of merchandise, being responsible for traffic and logistics at our facilities. The job holder manages team personnel to ensure that goods are received and shipped appropriately, and that productivity objectives are met. The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for providing leadership and direction for all safety, quality, delivery and cost reduction objectives that meet and exceed the needs of our internal and external customers.

- Coordinate and monitor the receipt, ordering and dispatch of merchandise, ensuring efficiency and accuracy throughout the process.
- Provide daily leadership to foster an injury-free workplace and ensure environmental compliance.
- Utilize space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, aligning with quality, budgetary and environmental objectives.
- Maintain a clear understanding of company policies, vision and the warehouse's role in achieving them.
- Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems as necessary for operations.
- Respond and manage communication with suppliers via email and telephone effectively.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through consistent cycle counting procedures.
- Plan future capacity requirements to meet operational demands.
- Organize the hiring and training of staff, monitor performance and encourage continuous development.
- Motivate and encourage teamwork within the workforce to achieve productivity goals.
- Develop and maintain work instructions to ensure compliance with operating standards.
- Generate regular reports and statistics to track performance and progress.
- Report daily to Operations Leaders on warehouse activities and performance.
- Coordinate daily activities with the Operations Team to address customer requests promptly.
- Maintain health, safety, hygiene and security standards in the work environment, including the safe storage of hazardous materials.
- Supervise planned maintenance of Motorized Industrial Trucks and warehouse building maintenance.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems where applicable.
- Provide backup support as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Ensure that the supervised department meets daily/annual objectives. Evaluate and suggest new procedures and processes to increase efficiency.
- Develop, recommend and coordinate the implementation of new procedures.
- Proactively communicate supply chain issues and provide alternatives and ensure compliance with government regulations and maintenance of equipment and a safe, clean environment.
Requirements
- 4 or more years of previous experience in warehouse or supply chain activities.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001.
- Understanding of the English language is preferred.
- Results-oriented approach and ability to take responsibility for solving problems.
- Flexibility and willingness to initiate and lead change.
- High customer focus: ability to proactively identify and satisfy customer needs.
- Ability to operate forklifts and manually move things within the warehouse.
- Excellent computer skills required. Knowledge of basic PC programs. Working knowledge of Google apps is a plus.
- Forklift knowledge, verified certification preferred.
- Experience with transactional functions in core IT systems (e.g. shipping/receiving functions) preferred.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with a highly participatory teamwork system.
- Willingness and ability to recognize and address unsafe acts or risk conditions.
