Role Summary
After structured training, you will independently work on water management, hydrological and water ecological issues for infrastructure, energy and water development projects.
You will create specialist articles on the European Water Framework Directive (WFD), expert reports on water law as well as application documents for approval and approval procedures.
You carry out hydrological, hydraulic and hydrogeological analyzes and calculations and evaluate the effects of projects on surface water and the water balance.
You analyze, plausibility check and interpret extensive specialist data sets (e.g. level, runoff, groundwater and precipitation data) and evaluate them using GIS applications.
You will work on concepts for water development, renaturation and water management adaptation to climate change.
You coordinate technical content with project participants and contribute your expertise to interdisciplinary project teams.
In the future, you will take responsibility for the technical management of projects and develop into a project manager.

Requirements

Training & Experience
- Successfully completed studies in hydrology, water management, environmental sciences, civil engineering (specialization in water) or a comparable field.
- Initial to several years of professional experience in working on water management, hydrological or water ecology projects.
- Experience in preparing expert reports, specialist articles or application documents in the water law environment is an advantage.
Technical knowledge
- Sound knowledge of hydrology, water balance and ideally the hydraulics of flowing waters.
- Experience in analyzing and evaluating water management data as well as in the application of GIS systems.
- Good knowledge of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD), the Water Resources Act (WHG) and other water law regulations.
- Ideally, knowledge of hydrological or hydraulic models as well as dealing with water management databases.
- Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of spoken and written English.
