Role Summary

That's what awaits you at ida

As CTO, you will be responsible for the strategic management of our tech unit and the approximately 40 employees who belong to the unit.

Your focus is not on the operational work in projects, but on steering: you give the unit direction, ensure commitment and create the framework under which our teams can do their best.

Together with our team leads, you are responsible for the professional and personal development of the unit: you develop people and structures instead of programming yourself.

Meanwhile, you will of course keep an eye on the utilization and capacities of the unit and use forward-looking resource and capacity planning to ensure that our teams are neither overloaded nor underloaded.

As our CTO, you follow technology trends for ida, know the current developments and workflows in the implementation of complex software projects and, in particular, actively promote the topic of AI - from the strategic classification to the concrete benefits for our work and that of our customers.

Speaking of which: without our customers we would be nothing. Therefore, you coordinate the technological vision closely with them and accompany them on their journey as a sparring partner.

You will also challenge our effort estimates and technical concepts for larger projects and tenders, question them constructively and in this way help us to plan realistically and deliver accurately.

In addition, you are a central part of ida management, have a significant influence on the strategic direction and portfolio development of our agency and are responsible for relevant KPIs and budgets.

Essential: You have sound leadership experience in an agile context and experience in leading managers. This means that you see yourself primarily as a manager and enabler and not as an operational developer.

Strong communication skills, commitment and initiative are your real strengths. This means that you make agreements, keep them and address issues on your own initiative instead of waiting for someone to tell you what to do.

It is therefore particularly important that you not only name problems, but also solve them yourself and thus play a significant role in shaping the culture at ida in your role: acting as a role model and so on...

You also have a good understanding of technology and a feel for technology trends, tools and practices as well as their relevance to business, but again: deep hands-on coding practice is expressly not a prerequisite for the job.

Of course, you also maintain a very good network in the tech industry and are constantly expanding it.

And if you have already gained experience in a digital agency and/or in a media house, then that would of course be the cherry on the milkshake.
